Hey Capmeister,

I am sure all Cypriots are really pleased with all our sporting achievements whether that be in Football, Rugby, Tennis, Athletics or anything else for that matter.

There is no point in comparing, every victory is an achievement, and we all congratulate the Mouflons on giving a good account of themselves.

One day, we hope to see them at the World Cup playing against one of the Tri Nations. It would be good seeing the Mouflons stare down the Haka!

Our strength is in our competitive spirit, and that exist whenever we take to the field to compete in any sport my friend.

It takes a lot of courage if the Cypriot National football Team take to the field against, let's say, Brazil. Just like when the Mouflons will one day accept the challenge and stare down the Haka.

The rugby team doesn't even make the Rugby World Rankings, but the football team are above half way in the FIFA World Rankings (87). It's not bad given the size of the country and the level of opposition we're up against

Disagree. Cyprus rugby is brand new. Irb ranking is merely a formality. And when that happens, Cyprus will be ranked higher than what Cypriot football has since it's inception.
The fact that Cyprus has won more games in 4 years of rugby than Cyprus in 100 years of football in European qualifications speaks for itself.
Football with millions of euro funding and state backing and 99 percent public support achieved nothing.
Rugby with a few hundred euro donations, zero state backing and 0.01 percent public support achieved extraordinary results.

Most of world doesn't even know about Rugby. Football is the king of sports... it is the most popular team sport in almost all countries. I agree with CFWM that our football ranking is good enough considering the population of the country!

Cap, our national soccer team has had its worst year in a long time so it’s not a good time for you to poke our wound… lest everyone turns against you 7th division Rugby boy!

You're not wrong... :?

I always felt that Ketsbaia would make a great national coach, but I think the twits at KOA are being racists by not calling him!
