Hi Mrs V

I see no critisism of you or your idea nor are we judging you; you asked for opinions and they have been given in good faith, indeed I accepted that my second post 'sounded negative' and said so. However, I, and perhaps others, have an advantage over you, I have actually set up a business here and faced the problems of recruiting staff, dealing with the Department of Finance, The Department of Labour and Social Insurance, The Immigration Department and local compeitors who did not welcome the competition I brought, all in a country where I did not speak the native language either.

Have you read hincyprus' recent thread about the difficulty his son has had running a business because he wa British?

We are just raising the questions, which you need to asnwer in your own head; we merely want to help - but not just nod our head and say 'Good Idea' - that would be much less helpful, I believe.

You are all making it sound like such a bad idea!
Believe me, it is something i have considered over a long period of time, i'm not about to jump into something I have no idea about.

I came to this forum for help and advice and all I have had so far, is criticism.

Obviously I am wasting my time here.

Mrs V

Sorry if you think we are being hyper-critical!

I was just offering my opinion based on my knowledge of my local village.

I also run a Limited Cypriot company so know a little about the costs of doing so.

As Svetlana says, you can’t make a ‘hobby’ out of this and not care about making money but then say you are going to have employees.

Sorry to have upset you. :(
