Better still let Turkey drill it and distribute it were ever it pleases and keep the proceeds for herself. That would make your bosses  even happier.

More bad news for GR and his bosses.

Energy company plans Greece, Cyprus, Israel cable link to convey gas-generated

By Associated Press, Published: January 23

NICOSIA, Cyprus

A Cyprus-based company says it’s planning to lay a 2,000 megawatt undersea electricity cable linking Israel, Cyprus and Greece.
Quantum Energy official George Killas told The Associated Press Monday that the cable aims to relay electricity to Greece and the rest of Europe that will be generated from Cypriot and Israeli natural gas deposits recently discovered in the eastern Mediterranean between the two countries.

Anyone know what percentage of the power would be lost in the transmission over that distance?

I did find some explanations of how to calculate it, but it was all too bloody complicated for me!

We need to fight these anti-Hellenists, because in reality they are disguised Turks.

In regards to your concerns about the ability of Greece to join and other...

Parcel # 4 (or Herodotus) of the Cypriot Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) which is adjacent to the Greek EEZ is estimated to have three times more oil & gas reserves than parcel # 12 (or Aphrodite) currently under investigation. It is also estimated that the Greek EEZ has significant oil & gas reserves. This is one of the main reasons Greece is not kicked out of the EU! Can you imagine a scenario where Greece is back to the Drachma selling LNG to the EU? The EU will never “allow” it!

Moreover, why do you think that all the great powers, USA, Germany, France, Russia, UK, rushed into sending a message to the Turks of a no-go with their threats! It is not because they love Cyprus. The fact that Cyprus abides to international law means nothing to them. If they were concerned about international law, Turkey wouldn’t be occupying illegally almost 40% of the island! It is the first time ever that Europe is guaranteed an uninterrupted supply of a traditional energy source and transit route by an EU member country!

It would be a grave mistake for Cyprus to get Greece involved in this project. Doing so would GUARANTEE Turkey’s illegal stay on Cyprus for decades to come!

If Cyprus is clever they will negotiate to transfer oil/gas via Turkey and liberate her occupied territory all in one lucrative deal. The costs would also be far lower than going via distant Greece.

It is Cyprus’ dealings with Greece that have brought about calamity to this island and will continue doing so unless this nuisance of an “ally” is gotten rid of.

I fully agree.

However, there is little chance because Noble and Delek who will pay for the pipeline don't want anything to do with Turkey because of Turkey's recent fallout with Israel.

For the above to occur, Turkish and Israeli ties need to improve. I believe that it is the Oil and Gas companies that will pay for the project. Delek is 100% Israeli and Noble is American but with some kind of ties to Delek once again which means that Israel is involved in that company as well. :?

It would be far better if Greece doesn't get involved. Everything they touch has disaster written all over it and quickly turns to shit. The evidence is there for all to see!

Disguised Turks are those who saw fit to partner up with Turkey in double enosis and to hell with the Cypriot culture!

Oohhh! So pleased! Converting Gas to electricity in Cyprus and then running it to Greece is just what I suggested back in November. It's happening. More Enosis - with cables! :D

Ignore them. That is what kills them. And let them spill out their thoughts. We thus learn what their masters are planning for (against) us. I mean you MUST be either a Turk or a Brit, or all f*ed up in the head to suggest that we should send our resources to Turkey. And make Turkey the SOLE supplier of energy for the WHOLE of Europe. SICK.

I'm sure the EU could more than handle Turkey under these new roles.
