...who was the Kurdish leader that was betrayed by (and eventually put to death) the Kemalists in Turkey when Ataturk was still alive.

wish I could remember his name, he said, bury me on the side of the road so that my countrymen can spit on me. (or something like that). He thought he was building a State, but was betrayed; the "Turks" could not get passed their idea of Nation.

'Who cares?' Turkey's Erdoğan tells Paul Auster

Turkey’s prime minister responded today to criticism from American novelist Paul Auster over the number of jailed journalists in the country, saying it made no difference whether he came to Turkey or not, daily Hürriyet reported.

"Writer Paul Auster told a newspaper over the weekend that he wouldn't come to countries that lack democratic laws," Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said. "What difference does it make if you come to Turkey, or if you don't?"

Auster had said earlier this week that he refused to visit Turkey because of the number of journalists and writers that had been jailed in the country.

Auster had further said he refused to travel to countries such as Turkey and China that lacked democratic laws even if he was invited.

I may not go to France again if 'genocide' bill passes: Erdoğan

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has hinted he may not visit France again if a proposed bill that would criminalize the rejection of Armenian genocide claims passes in the country's Senate today.

When asked what his reaction would be in the event the bill was approved by the French Senate, Erdoğan said that he may not go to France again if the bill is approved

Erdoğan said the proposed bill was against freedom of speech and was only a ploy for the coming elections in May.

The prime minister said he hoped that the French Senate would not vote for a decision that conflicts with the country's history.

The contentious bill that was approved by the French Parliament in December penalizes the rejection of Armenian genocide claims with a 45,000-euro fine and one year in jail. The bill needs to be approved by the Senate before it can come into effect.
