There is official worldwide criteria that determine what constitutes naturalizations, citizenships, and such but it has nothing to do with what one assumes his forefathers were speaking 3,000 years ago!

We are not talking about citizenships but about ethnicities You can be Chinese and if you stay in Cyprus for some years you can get the Cypriot citizenship. If the Turks accept our own proposals then 50.000 Turkish Settlers will get the Cypriot citizenship. You can go to France and after some years you can became French citizen. What citizenship you have doesn't say anything about your ethnicity. Your language and the language of your ancestors says a lot
