How many Turkish Cypriots were reportedly "slaughtered" or even attacked from the day of the coup against Makarios till Turkey invaded? Any UN or other records? How many serious clashes between Greek and Turkish Cypriot forces and how many "attacks" and "slaughters" of TCs by GCs can you list from 1967 (Kofinou incident) to the day of the invasion in 1974? And how many TCs were killed by GC forces during this same 7 year period? Enlighten us please.

The whole of Cyprus is NOT GREEK, it is also the homeland of TC's and Turkey did not invade, they came in to stop the slaughter of TC's by the GC's. You do yourself no favours with your racist rants. BTW I am not taking sides, just telling it like it is, but truthfully.

Your ignorance is apparent on many levels now. The whole of Cyprus is Greek. It is the homeland of Cypriot nationals and EU subjects. They can be Sri Lankan, Polish, English, Turkish etc. So long as they have RoC citizenship, they can reside in Cyprus; but that does not change Cyprus' cultural identity - which is Greek and has been for thousands of years. Semi-analogous to Britain. It is British but Nigerians, French, Scots etc can reside there on observance of the residency rules. As for slaughtering TCs, perhaps you'd better learn some history before you alienate yourself entirely from reason. And in future, kindly do not dictate to us again that you are "telling it like it is" when you know absolutely nothing about the history of Cyprus.

The threat is not new. They used it when Cyprus first applied for EU membership and they repeated it it during the accession negotiations etc. I bet they would have done it already since long if they could.
The governments before Erdogan were saying that they would not "permit" accession of Cyprus prior to the accession of Turkey (i.e. never) and threatened with annexation even war. Then, under Erdogan, they said they would not "permit" accession of Cyprus prior to the settlement of the Cyprus problem, which settlement they then rejected in 2002 (Annan Plan B). Now they repeat the same threat being faced with the latest nightmares which are Cyprus undertaking the EU presidency and most importantly, Cyprus becoming a energy player. And a very precious ally of some "big boys". I call it PANIC! (But beware. Britain is just around the corner to promote their claims and interests, as usual, pushing for an even worse plan than Annan 5).
