Makarios was certainly blackmailed that if he did not accept the "agreements" that the foreigner Imperialists created, these foreigners would have done even more crimes against Cyprus.

Beyond that if they blackmailed our leaders on any personal issues as well I don't know, but it is not totally unlikely when you consider the kind of Imperialist scum we are dealing with.

It was Britain which was 'blackmailed' by the USA to accept surrender to EOKA and walk away with only the "SBA"s (and it's also disputed whether they retain any claim to these via the 1960 Agreement).

- Makarios accepted knowing that this hastily constructed concoction will be revised (as the British later helped to do by encouraging the 13 point plan).

First of all, whether Makarios was gay or not was immaterial because he was Celibate! To have accused him of having sex with anyone would have been enough, had they had ANY evidence! Which they didn't!

Secondly, the British civil servants, politicians etc of that time were mostly crypto-gays themselves and would not have had the chutzpah for such a blackmail.

Thirdly, it was the British themselves who were blackmailed by the USA to concoct the constitution instead of allowing enosis.
