Today's news is (Fileleftheros) the government in the South has kept TCs exempt from the new law i.e. they will be getting free National health. I wonder why? I did not hear any TCs shout and protest about anything in the first place anyway! By the way, according to official figures, money spent on TCs using National Health since 2003 is around 43 million Euros. That is around 4.5 million Euros a year! Not to mention that includes National Health services for hundreds of TCs working in the South. Big Flucking Deal!
TCs are restoring Andreas Monastery in Karpaz at a cost of 5 million Euros this year.

...to be perfectly clear, there never was a law to restrict the use of health services by Turcophones living in the north or south. in reality we are discussing only one side of a debate that went on before writing any reforms as an Act for its presentation to the Legislature.

...indeed, from thirty odd years of total disregard (and denial), the Monastery was about to collapse. it would have been interesting to see what the Turkish authority would have done, had the Archbishop was compelled to take its restoration into his own hands against their will, don't you think?
