It makes sense that the Greek cyp natives acquiesced to the ottoman army, it would be in my opinion a matter of survival, facing a conquering army like the ottomans. In comparison the enclaved villagers of rizokarpaso acquiesced to letting the Turks take over their farmland in exchange that they're allowed to live in their houses and in their villages. It doesn't mean the enclaved Greek cyps made any deal with the occupying Turk army of today....

Had the Venetians treated these Greek cyp natives with a semblance of respect, allowed them the freedom to practice Greek Orthodox Christianity, and didn't remove all their property and reduce them to mere serf-cattle to be exploited upon... I'm sure greater numbers of soldiers would have been manning the walls of Nicosia and Famagusta against the muslim invaders.

This has little to do with Rizokarpaso.
