Cyprus does not have a water crisis, just look south to see. what is the difference, north or south, Cyprus is an island after all.

Well... The Free Areas of the Republic do have a water crisis, one which has been alleviated by the desal plants, so much so that peoples' taps haven't run dry after a very, very dry Winter.

... but the crisis is partly not visible, it's under the ground... the aquifers are getting more and more fecked, and although there is management, it hasn't been enough and the problem won't be overcome as long as farmers (bless them) can buy water at 10 cents a tonne.

To go back to what N was saying,... yes, it is about Gas, but it also goes beyond Gas and way beyond Water in to an area where Turkey is staking a claim to the CY EEZ, showing that it can act with impunity in CY Waters, as it does in the Occupied Areas... and so far, with the help of some of the CYs up there, people like Traito, it's getting away with it.

In this new Turkish inspired mess there is a hidden message, hidden in plain sight, for the TCs. Turkey is getting into a great deal of expense and risk inorder to deal with their supposed nemesis, the GCs, whom Turkey does nto recognise as a nation, but implicitly accepts as an equal partner in a water-gas deal. In other words, as we say in Greek, Turkey has the TCs written on its testicles. It always had.

...indeed, if Cyprus becomes a Gaz Hub in her own right, that would bother Turkey's intention to control all or almost all of the Gaz, from north and south, flowing east and west. and as was mentioned before, drinking water is a free derivative from the process of refining the Gaz, and compressing it to various degrees.

...energy and water will be derived by an industrial application of a well trained work force, know-how (help Internationally), and Capital; what is clear, the regime which represents nothing more than the now President of Turkey's whims has nothing to offer, itself, and whose benefit will depend on the charity, so to speak, it raises. the Cypriots (and the Republic) on the other hand, as Individuals (and as a State) prepare themselves, because realistically speaking, merit will count in who gets hired, (whatever the deal,) not if you are "Turkish", or "Greek" enough (, in English: capice?).

...while you try to dismiss the Cypriot, as a dweller of Cyprus, (and the bond that Cyprus has to the EU, the Rule of Law, and other International partners), as though Cyprus does not exist, i suggest, if you are Cypriot, Lordo, that you can do better with the conspiracy theories you come up with, the idea that a Cypriot does not exist, and that only "Greeks" and "Turks" exists is passe.(not all Turcophones are "Turks", either.) Cypriots, as you know, represent about half of the population, no matter how you cut it, they do exist, and in your hypothesis, to be credible, they should be considered; i am hopeful, frankly.

as i've asked before, why isn't the north something so much better, since in 'motherhood', Turkey gives "them" everything; Turkey is a great country, and she has taken to competing with anything "Greek".

...but what mother would flood the Karpas with farmers (because after-all what is this water for), more like serfs from Turkey they'll toil, until this water runs dry, or the pipeline breaks; i think Erdogan's intention is to turn Cyprus into a desert so that no one can live there.

rw there are 108 dams built in the republic. you wonder why there is a shortage of water in the north. the water is mainly for people to drink as well as tourism and farming. if water in cyprus was shared accordingly perhaps we would not need this water but i am afraid its a little too late. the water is coming and charlui will get his comeupance. it will be lordo piss bucket challenge for him.

it is not a matter of terkey giving us everything. the embargoes are put in place by the roc. in fact they started in 1963, when not even baby milk was allowed in. go figure.
