If the greek cypriots feel so bad about the illegal turkish occupation then take some action, dont just sit there doing nothing. you can contact the turkish embassy in london to complain at 43 BELGRAVE SQUARE,LONDON,SW1X 8PA 0207393 0202 or complain about the inaction of the cyprus government at the CYPRUS HIGH COMMISSION,93 PARK STREET,LONDON W1K 7ET 0207 499 8272.

Also complain to TRANSPORT FOR LONDON for letting the occupation authorities have adverts for hoildays to north cyprus on the london underground.
WWW.TFL.GOV.UK or WWW.ASA.ORG.UK this is the advertising standards authority in the uk, or contact the people who put up these offensive adverts at WWW.VIACOM-OUTDOOR.CO.UK

Dont forget what the occupation has done to us WWW.MISSING-CY.ORG

The UK Supreme Court has ruled recently that there is no legal basis to prevent the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus of being advertised as a holiday destination.

So where are the posters for holidays to occupied north Cyprus? I havenet seen any since before TfL did the right thing and took them down.

How can you advertise for potential holiday makers to pay money to abuse the rights of GC refugees.

All it takes is for a single GC refugee to potentially take TfL to court for advertising the abuse of his human rights and what has been judged illegal by international law...and they would be screwed. You think TfL is silly? you think they would turn such money for advertising down if there was no detremental effect.

and like I said...I have driven all through London and not seen ONE billboard or poster advertisement for holidays to occupied Cyrpus.

remember, its not only TfL who took the ads down, it was other companies like Adshell too.

No offensive product or service was offered by this advertisement, which merely illustrated the cultural and environmental delights of northern Cyprus.

If you had read the article you would have noticed it.

lol what a load of crap. Of couse its offensive...it promotes the land stolen from GC refugees, many of who live in London. It also advertises a service which in turn abuses the rights of GC refugees. That advertising campaign is full of illegal flaws, your just to blind to even look at the bigger picture.

there is no 'supreme court' in the UK moron, Law Lords cannot overrule legislation passed by Parliament, they can scrutinize and judicial review.

There seems to be one here though. It is made up of a couple of kangaroos. Legal is legal, isn't that what you have been saying all along. Of course when it true and works against your ideals....well???

There's nothing we can legally do. Whether we like it or not, if our leaders do not seek a two-republic formula now of two autonomous entities of 22% and the rest Greek Cypriot, we will loose all of the 37% to the Turkish Cypriots. Think about it, if we haven't managed to persuade the world since 1974 that the Turkish Invasion was wrong, we'll never be able to accomplish this now that Turkey is gaining even more political and economic influence.

Just look at the facts:
1) Turkey's Economic power is growing.
2) Its relationship with China, the OIC and the Turkic states are playing a very important role in the future economic stability of the EU; Oil, exports and etc.
3) America's policy on Iraq; Kurdish oil rich state in the North can only happen with the help of Turkey.
4) Soon, the OIC, Turkic states and many more will recognise the so-called TRNC.

If we do not throw a spanner in the works and force a two-Republic solution according to OUR INTERESTS, we will have to settle with a 36% percent lost. If we request a two-republic Cyprus now, we will at least gain Famagusta, Morphou and most of the land along the buffer zone. While, if we wait any longer, we will have to accept every nation recognising the TRNC besides us.

We are running out of time, even the Great CLERIDES said that we will be forced to recognise the TRNC of 37% if we continue believe that Cyprus will be united. Just imagine what will happen if a new Annan Plan is written and we say no. The Turkish Cypriot administration has nothing to loose, but we certainly do.

Are we that ignorant and blind?
