to destroy my ballot, and where i am one of thousands who choose to wait silently for the one thing "the sham" needs (from me), yes, absolutely i would vote, bill.

...as a Canadian, i have voted many times, in referendums, twisted they may be judged, indeed having to hear the great seperatist defend the "No" forces in Quebec, regarding in my opinion a flawed Accord (giving Canada a Constitution), left me bitter, because as a Canadian who knows better, my association was with him; damn right, i voted, as few as we were, these few would not vote with Mr. Parizeau, because unlike him, we are for, Canada.

...the Boycott movement is wise if they do not give up on the Democratic Process, it is this, at this point which must be defended. whether a state or a State, it should belong to the voters, and as taxpayers it is their Right. the ultimate betrayal, if you will, (against corruption) is to turn up in large numbers to vote; but to destroy the ballot.

...what is wrong with betrayal, (servant-slaves) i say? Freedom, Freedom for Cyprus: one Country, one People; Liberty for Cypriots, many Constituencies, too.

To be quite honest, I am still at two minds about voting, but if I do, it wşll now be TDP and CTP as a joint vote. Today I have done a lot more research and the lady who is standing as the temporary prime minister has achieved quite a lot in a very short time! In fact, I have it from a reliable source that she has actually taken away citizenships from around 360 mainlanders who were issued them illegally. A fellow called Necati Şaşmaz (a TC stller) has been removed from an attache position and all the land allocated to him taken back. She (Sibel) is openly challenging the TC domination. She has been quoted as saying to TCs "I am not scared of anyone! I might have to give up the only life I've got, but I will give you back your pride!"

I agree with RP that, "not voting" is not a solution. I never voted the last 2 elections, but this time I will do my best to make my vote count. If TDP candidates are in danger of not passing well beyond the 13% vote barrage, I may as well use it for CTP to avoid the likes of UBP and DP getting majotity vote. But I feel strongly it is a UBP - CTP coalition on the horizon...

Well it has to be acknowledged that Ms Siber's actions and intent are so far encouraging for you chaps but she has also made some statements in recent days of the usual 2 peoples 2 countries sort... that many of us will find discouraging.

...still, if she is saying, Turkey and its Army out of Cyprus, it is a big first step.

...a Greek Constituency, may free the Republic to defend Cypriots, if it is an equal to the Turkish Constituency that seeks the same Liberty as representation.

Boycotting the elections does not solve our problems in North and Cyprus.

Solution formula for the Cyprus is well knowing by the Turkish Cypriots. BBF solution and it has great support from TC's and World too.

A year later presentioal elections will be as well. With new leader and new goverment to solve the Cyprus problem will be continue .

It would be a better place if 'our guarantors' were not involved at all. I'm sure we would have reached a solution long back. I think one step we could make, although it may cripple us a little, Is to separate ourselves from the 'motherlands'. I'm sure everyone must leave mum and dad at some time.
Unlike the mainlanders, the Cyprus natives DO want a solution.

good point, welcome T-Mac, Cypriots want a State, others have difficulty, resisting for "Nationhood".

halil, "problems in North and Cyprus." and what if there is a Cyprus, a North (as you say), and a South, three governing bodies; does this make sense to you?

Please tell that to the TCs, who are clinging to Turkey. Greece has been out of the picture since 1974. Problem is Turkey will not leave Cyprus and that's the main issue. She is there with the blessing of the US/UK/EU so we have no chance.

We were forcefully separated from Greece and the buggers got what they wanted. Turkey in Cyprus! Cyprus isolated. The eastern Mediterranean without meaningful EEZs etc etc etc.

Stop thinking along the stupid lines they offered you.

(Nowadays, only the Turks would buy the "no motherland" theory. Because Turkey never was a motherland. But that does NOT nullify Greece - just to make it convenient for Brits and Turks)

cyprus was never a part of the modern Greek state to have been forcefully separated from it.
