It is ludicrous and hilariously pathetic that our past masters, including Makarios,made such mammoth misjudgements in foreign policies. Our future lies in the West not in nations with which we have nothing whatsoever in common. Our culture is Western, out outlook to life is western our focus also must be totally on western influence.

We have nothing to gain befriending uninfluential impotent tin pot nations, Cuba comes to mind.

Would it be wrong to divide the British into Muslim British and Englisht British? (like they did 'Greek' and 'Turk' Cypriots)
Say we wanted a base in North London, the Cyprus sovereign base of North London.
Through persistent propaganda ,pour the fuel into the fire and watch them destroy themselves, could we claim a piece of territory?

Yes well, Israel is far from being a demonic state. The way it was formed in the Holy Land in 1948 opened a big can of worms. The whole situation is very messed up and no one really knows what the solution is.

There are many worse countries than Israel.

The best situation I forsee is for the Palestinians to be incorportated as equal citizens of Israel, with adequate living space, free movement, access to education, jobs, careers, and the right to own property anywhere and the freedom to worship their faith. In the end, Israel needs to decide whether it should endure the violence, and fear of terrorism or to think outside the box and do something constructive for the benefit of Palestinians and other Israelis. This will either go on forever, but Israel can end it if it wants to.

...interesting, a BBF in Israel,(as in Turkey) could work; just read Kikapu's proposal, or my manifesto.

Actually not too ridiculous Cap ...Britain is in my opinion already ''divided'' (not sure if that is the right word) into differing factors according to religion and the similarity with Greek and Turkish speaking Cypriots is also there in that there are parts of the main cities in Britain that have unofficial Muslim alcoves (although this would not be admitted by the UK Gov.)

Though I think a Cypriot 'Sovereign' base in Norf London is a pipe dream I am afraid You'll just have to make do with a Cypriot protectorate as in ''The British protectorate of Peyia''
