it seems that a Cypriot Nationalist party may not be able to take root in Cyprus, the closest in my opinion from the past and present would be EDEK, but they barely broke more then 16 percent in the past and are now at 8 percent....It seems that Cypriots, regarding nationalistic issues are reluctant to participate, probably a by-product of the invasion in 74. Nationalistic issues beyond the norm, are considered extreme and dangerous.

In my opinion, what is dangerous and quite stupid is the type of "Cypriot" Nationalism we have had in the past which was not at all Cypriot but more like Greek Nationalism. This exposes us to Turkish Nationalism so it is a double edged blade which there can be no winners!

Nothing particularly against Greece or the Greek people as far as I am concerned anyway, it is just that Cypriots need to express their own Cypriot Nationalism which I would hope will include the "T"Cs in a generation or 2. It comes down to the education system, so that is a vital ingredient.

Having our own Nationalism could potentially solve a lot of problems down the track.

We are our own country, so it is about time we behaved like one!
