Yes, lots of them armed with bits of timber and rocks standing feet away from people masquerading as "police"

What was it about...???

Haberkibris says...

"...That there had been on-going tension between Kurdish students of the "emu" and people it describes and describes euphemistically as "young idealists". (This second lot, to call a spade a spade in our CF way of speaking, are the Grey Goats.)

That the trouble started on the campus with the "police" taking action.

That the two groups clashed with sticks and stones and the trouble overspilled the campus and carried on at the hospital at Occupied Famagusta and at the offices of the Idealist Youth (grey Wolves) where windows were broken.

Tension continued throughout the night..."

.....

... which would leave most of us none the wiser.

Anyway, for turkish-speakers...

Gerginlik gece boyunca devam etti..."

What a stupid and clearly subversive thing to say. :!:

ELAM do NOT enter other people's countries to destroy its indigenous culture.
ELAM are not illegal immigrants.
ELAM are protectors of the thousands of years of inheritance of Cyprus.

Only way to get rid of cockroaches is to stamp them out.

Me being cynical, why do I get the feeling this was planted to cause trouble which spreads like a disease amongst these types?

According to Cyprus PIO:

Fight between Grey wolves and Kurdish students in occupied Famagusta

Turkish Cypriot daily Havadis newspaper (05.11.13) reports that a fight took place yesterday between Grey wolves and Kurdish students in occupied Cyprus and notes that the fight started at the illegal Near East University but soon was transferred at the streets.

According to the paper, the cause of the fight was allegations by the Grey wolves' organization that some Kurdish students broke the windows of the Grey wolves organization's building. Around 500 students went out on the streets holding clubs and rocks and the so-called police asked for reinforcement in order to put them under control. Twenty three persons were "arrested" regarding the issue.

Bit more info on the street fighting of last week between A Very Nasty Pox On Both Their Houses Green Goats and Kurdish students from the illegal "emu", reported in lemony.eu, originally printed in yeniduzen...

Fight between Kurdish and ultra-nationalist students in Famagusta

FAMAGUSTA – A fight broke out between the students of Kurdish origin and the ultra-nationalist students in Famagusta, in the northern part of Cyprus. The fight continued through Thursday night in the streets of the city. Police arrested twenty students and stated that it is looking for another 50.
According to the news report in the Yenidüzen newspaper, the events began after a member of the ultra-nationalist grey wolves, was beaten in front of the Law Faculty of the Eastern Mediterranean University on Thursday around 2:30 pm and then taken to hospital. The grey wolves and Kurdish student groups clashed in front of the hospital, while a group of about 50 Kurdish students raided the building of the grey wolves and broke its door and windows with stones, sticks and sharp objects. The grey wolves frequently chanted slogans of “revenge.” “The grey wolf movement cannot be prevented,” “Apo’s bastards cannot intimidate us” (a reference to PKK's leader Abdullah Ocalan), “Grey wolves are here, where are the jackals,” were other slogans chanted by the ultra-nationalist group.
As the Famagusta police was insufficient in rapidly putting an end to the fight, riot police were transferred to the Famagusta police headquarters, according to Yenidüzen.
