Just a belated update on the drilling-rig JSP Jupiter.

For the past couple of weeks or so it's been drilling in the relative shallows of the Gulf of Iskenderun, offshore Turkey, well away from the CY EEZ.

...now that the Barbaros will not be plying the waters of Cyprus any time soon, it is a good idea to follow what she will be doing instead. Turkey has the same interest in Greece, and Syria, as she does, here in Cyprus, with her interpretation of International Law, and "her" Continental Shelf.

It is widely reported that a Turkish research vessel – the cause of the talks suspension in October - will no longer encroach within the boundaries of the Cypriot exclusive economic zone from April 6th. http://famagusta-gazette.com/cyprus-tal ... 828-69.htm
