EMU Best University in Cyprus!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

EMU Best University in Cyprus!

Postby MrH » Wed Dec 04, 2013 10:29 am

Hi all, sorry for being away for a while - hence this subject. I have just returned from the U.S working on a long project at the University of Stanford, California and wanted to highlight how much they praised The "Eastern Mediterranean University" in Northern Cyprus as being the island's best University. Some might say on this forum as to what does this have to do with the "Cyprus Problem". Well, everything really as EMU is an internationally recognised University of the TRNC, and that is how it's also being portrayed externally too!

Er, Mr. H, you do know that the so-called EMU is not internationally accredited. It provides cheap unaccredited courses in order to attract poor Turkish and African students but they are ending up with degrees only recognised in Turkey and nowhere else.

Actually it is.... It also has partnership agreements with the University of Kent, Surrey, Southwestern University in the U.S and LSE (London School of Economics). Those Universities just don't publish their agreements in front of the Greek Cypriot lead Republic of Cyprus as they do not wish to get involved with its one-sided political intentions. Check out your info properly......you may be deeply surprised!

Makes no difference. ‘Degrees' from ‘universities' in the occupied areas are only recognised by Turkey. Internationally, they are not worth the paper they are written on.

They lure unsuspecting students with low tuition fees saying they offer high-quality education. However, the ‘universities’ in occupied Cyprus are not authorized. Meaning a potential problem for students who have studied for a worthless 'degree'.

I think this is the article which I read a few weeks ago, in regards to worthless degrees from the TRNC.
This highlights Kenyan students and their worries over their studies in the north. It mentions the 'EMU'.

You can close your eyes all you want but the diplomas from the univerisities in the TRNC are accepted all over the world, my children have used them to do higher education in the UK and USA.

What was that the TRNC flag is even used and the ranking is higher bar one than the GC unis

Get Real, my good friend, long time no argue!

I love your weblinks, hence that's exactly what they are. Why don't you add some links to explain the presence of the HSBC bank in Girne, Hyundai, BMW and other major manufacturers, including some of the main Hotel global players - and their Casino Concessions. In fact, why don't you also include links on which country built our roads in the TRNC, invested heavily in the Karpaz area and is currently paying for a new department/college at EMU.....you will be shocked!

The bottom line here is that the TRNC is here to stay, and now with the Greek Cypriots being conned with their Hydro-carbon gas finds by the many external sharks in on capitalising on its extraction, and Turkey seeking its own find in North-East TRNC, the TRNC's official recognition will surely be on the table very soon.

But you already know that!
