The Cyprus Dialogue Forum presents its goals in a declaration it has issued, noting that “our role is to support the negotiations and all efforts to reach a mutually agreed federal solution, by acting as an inclusive participatory platform for dialogue.”

According to the declaration, the Forum, comprising political parties, trade unions, business associations and NGOs from both communities has been created as a response to a need for an inclusive and permanent space for structured dialogue and knowledge- sharing in which issues and challenges of common concern can be addressed.

“Through joint reflection and consensus building we believe this dialogue will address issues related to the Cyprus problem, by focusing and strengthening the flow of information between the wider society and the leaderships,” it noted.

The aims of the Forum are “to act as a platform to understand and discuss perspectives across the multiple segments of Cypriot society on political, socio-economic, cultural and educational issues, to create public awareness, acknowledge and incorporate the inputs of the wider public and help to prepare both communities for a solution and to create a space for citizens to raise and address issues that are not included in the negotiation process.”

The Forum commits itself to create common understandings and shared visions of the future and to embrace multi-perspectivity and build a culture of co-existence based on shared values and solidarity.

“Through providing support and assistance, shared knowledge resources and common safe spaces, we aim to strengthen the culture of dialogue and reach common understandings on various issues and interests among Cyprus’ political, economic and social stakeholders,” the declaration noted.

It added that “the legitimacy of the Forum derives from its inclusivity and transparency. Therefore, as an open platform of cooperation and discussion between political, economic and social organisations in both communities, we call upon other organisations to join our efforts.”

...another process which i hope in the future provides from the dialog a Cypriot way.

Speaking at the International Conference on Egypt’s Economic Development in Sharm El Sheikh on Friday, Anastasiades said that the mutual benefit is potentially of much higher importance and collectively more rewarding compared to any singular interest.
Gulf Arab allies pledged a further $12 bln of investment and central bank deposits for Egypt at the international summit, a big boost to President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi as he tries to reform the economy after years of political upheaval
“Joint cooperation in promoting our shared objectives of stability, security and prosperity by addressing the complex challenges the Eastern Mediterranean is facing can have a positive spill-over effect in building the foundations for regional peace,” Anastasiades said, adding that “economic partnerships create common interests and form an integral part of political synergies.”
Anastasiades congratulated the Egyptian President and his government for the measures already taken to initiate structural reforms and promote investment, noting that their efforts are already bearing fruit.

...good news for the region. Cyprus in this regard is a good host, and it offers the opportunity for social exchange between the three continents; most hopeful.

Commenting on the resumption of negotiations and Akıncı’s election as the new Turkish Cypriot President Tsipras said “ I support the resumption of talks and Akıncı’s election is a “remarkable” development”.

According to Greek Cypriot national radio Egyptian President Sisi also commented on the Cyprus problem and said that “We are hoping to shape our collaboration via social justice, stability, peace and tolerance. For Cyprus our view never changes and that view is for Cyprus to be united with all its communities and sovereignty”
