what greeks steal does not count. nothing greeks do can count as plundering. that means they were given it as gifts. they destroyed cultures from europe to indiain the east and africa to the south. and yet some people call them civilised. civilised my left foot.

Do tell on what has been 'plundered' by Greeks that is being demanded back, and by whom...

You may like to think about which cultures feel they have been impoverished by the spread of Greek Art, philosophy, mathematics, sport, tactics, historical recording, drama, poetry, engineering etc ?

Do expand, because I don't see anyone queuing up to demand that the Greeks must remove columns, temples, statues, marbles, pottery, learning, writing etc from the countries in which they left these things behind.

Is Italy screaming 'take away these Greek temples from our soil because the tourists are not flocking to see them'?

Are Indians shouting 'remove these water extraction systems from our land as our farmers don't need to feed their plants for free'?

If we're talking about inventions, surely the UK and USA, Germany lead the pack...whilst Greece was indeed great in the ancient era, it's current "greatness" paled dramatically and it's influence continues to dwindle. Sure, they can hang on to the nostalgia of their ancient greatness, their temples, their ruins...but that will not pay back their debt  Hard work on the other hand will, except I'm afraid Greek, as Cypriots, have forgotten the meaning of "hard-work" centuries ago.

No, we aren't talking about inventions. We were talking about what you and Lordo describe as 'plundering' by Greeks:

But, I see you were just spouting hot air and have no evidence to suggest any countries can claim compensation from Greece in an analogous manner to the German-war reparations under discussion!

fair enough i was wrong, they were too dumb to plunder. so tell us why did they invade india, to civilise them perhaps. talking of stupid, how do you explain stupidity greeks find themselves in. is it the germans fault. you must blame somebody else. how on earth can it be the greeks fault. butter would not melt in their mouth.

What the Greeks are doing/saying is INCREDIBLY childish, foolish, downright retarded of an elected group of people that should display much more common sense in their functions bestowed on them instead of all the populist gimmicks they've been trying thus far.

Fine. Let all the countries that have a legitimate claim against Greece make them!

Meanwhile, Turkey owes Greece for the 400 + years of occupation and the occupation that still persists in Constantintinople and Smyrna. I wonder how much that is worth?

Further to this, Turkey owes Cyprus for more than 400 years of Ottoman Rule, and the current illegal occupation of 37% of our sovereign territory.

In addition, the UK owes Cyprus decades of compensation for its rule over the island between 1878 and 1960, as well as lease payments for the 2 SBAs plus interest.
