Turkish Airlines in a recruitment frenzy

Postby Paphitis » Wed Aug 05, 2015 9:28 am

This is for any Cyprus Airways Capts and FOs. Don't overlook Turkish Airlines because they are screaming for crews as they are almost at the point of parking planes up near the fence.

Packages are $25K/17K per month.

Everyone from the Olympic Glory days/era seems to be there at the moment and loving it. Great bunch of lads too! Heaps of Greeks and other foreigners (Germans, English, Americans, Aussies you name it).

100+ Airbus and Boeing orders plus another 50 options. This airline is expanding at a dramatic pace.

Might help to have a foreign passport so make sure you have that in order.

What does that mean? :?

Personally, I think Turkish Airlines is expanding too fast for it's own detriment down the road! Just how much state money is going into TK, since it is 50% state owned? The advantage that the TK has over the competitors, is that they pay crap to flight attendants and ground personnel, specially for those working in Turkey.

Seems to be working great for them at the moment.

They are doing very well and they have recruited a lot of great people/minds.

The only issue with the rate of their expansion is that they can't seem to find and/or train crews fast enough and they're parking some aircraft by the fence.

With respect to the passport, it would probably help if any Cypriot has a foreign non RoC passport (not sure). Most of the guys do hold British, American, Greek, Australian, Canadian, South African passports anyway so they shouldn't have any issues.

They will be able to get to Cyprus easily too to spebd with family - through ERCAN obviously but who cares now considering the way these guys were treated in Cyprus. Only one of the guys at CA will have major issues and understandably so.

Most major airlines have been in merger frenzy for the last decade or two since it is a very tough business in the aviation industry as you well know. Many have just fizzled away trying to go on their own. It all depends how much money the Turkish state is pumping free money into TK and for how long they will continue to do that?

Yeh some airlines but I think Turkish Airlines are turning into a global powerhouse and if anything, it is they who will be taking over other smaller airlines.

I don't know what the Turkish state is pumping into the airline - it's news to me.

But they look like a fantastic outfit now and a lot of people are looking very closely at this now which was not the case a few years ago.

They got recruitment roadshows on tour as we speak trying to get hold of anyone they can get.

WTF  , GC's including yourself have constantly referred to Ercan as an illegal this, illegal that. Now you are promoting Turkish Airlines and encouraging using Ercan as a "selling point" for working there, what has the world come to.

On another note, I've been following THYAO stock for a while, waiting for a plummet in the Turkish stock market before I buy. I believe Turkish Airlines will rival the Lufthansa Group within the next ten years.

Its a public limited company.. Although the state had a majority share holding, they have decreased it from 98% to 75% in 2005.

Trying to raise further investment, the state has decreased its share holding to the current 49%.

This will be decreased even further I would imagine, then the airline will probably go the same way as most airlines in the next 10 years. They are planning to expand the fleet by 45% until 2021.

Why would you sell off a great and profitable company?

Exactly, seems Paphiti would sell his mother for the right money. Prick, just listen to yourself, and you call yourself a patriot, hade gamisou.

Even the Turks are seeing your two faced hypocrisy.

B25, who is a real patriot, yourself? Your type of attitude will get Cyprus nowhere, waiting for Turkey to implode and expecting to benefit from this somehow is a flawed strategy.
