I can't think of a single country that has become a democracy except by its people forcing it from within. I'm doubtful if it can be imposed from outside - the very idea of it being forced from outside is undemocratic.

If Syrians can not succeed by their own efforts, all the outside bombings will only succeed in putting in place a different dictator.

Russia probably has the right idea, and surely the only country with a clear aim - support the dictator we know. The next dictator may be worse.

The US starts to pull Patriot missiles from Turkey at critical time
The move raised questions about NATO’s strategy in Turkey, as it contradicted with the statements of NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg that the alliance was prepared to send ground forces to defend its member state.

http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/us-sta ... sCatID=359

There are two reasons why the West would want to pull them out...

1. They know the Russians can jam them and can embarrass the Americans killing all sales and destroying an industry they've invested heavily in.

2. In the unlikely event that they *do* work against a Russian jet (ie: the strayed jet is not fitted with the jamming technology) nobody from the West wants to be responsible for downing a Russian jet and risk WWIII over Turkey.

It's a lose-lose either way for the West.

Not really bozo.

RAAF Edinburgh has underground parking because of this very reason. We always have known Russia has 2 or 3 Spy Satellites and photograph as the pass overhead.

We have plenty more. It's not a big deal. We have dozens looking at Cyprus too. We are always watching what everyone is up to, so make sure you wear some underwear when you go into your backyard to water your cacti! We don't want to see your small willy! As you can imagine, these satellites have very powerful cameras.

RUSSIAN AIRCRAFT FORCE U.S. PLANES OFF MISSION OVER ISIS ‘CAPITAL’ RAQQA

The Pentagon revealed this week that U.S. warplanes in Syria changed their course to avoid a collision with Russian warplanes. The planes took off from Incirlik Air Base in Turkey. Due to Russia inching closer to Turkey, NATO’s chief said the organization has to be ready to protect the country.

You just don’t fuck with Russian 5th generation Sukhois…

We have already shot a Russian Jet down. Turkey used one of its F-16s and did a fine job.

BTW, there are still Patriots in Turkey and we will lock Russian Jets if we have to.

Secondly, there is no AEW&C capability that the Russians have in Syria so there is no possibility of jamming them up. However, we can jam the shit out of Russia's S300/S400 no worries. Australia does this every day whenever its Super Hornets fly overhead. Not only that, but our Wedgetails jam all communications.

And the Wedgetail is only the tip of the iceberg.

Enjoy!

Yes got to love these 15 second videos. What happened to the rest of the speech?

However, as much as I hate ISIL for all the shit they have done, I hate Russia even more.
