The collective failure of both Cypriot communities, the reason why Cyprus is in the mess it is today, is that too many from both communities chose to place being Greek or Turkish ahead of being Cypriot regardless of other differences. I seek a different future for Cyprus where that is not the case, by word and by deed. Every time you chose to call me 'Turk' and not Cypriot, you simply repeat our communal mistakes of the past as an individual and perpetuate them. I know you are unable to fit this simple reality in your head, unable to see how saying that people who 'accept my miserable existence' on your island are traitors is to just perpetuate the very mistakes that got us into this mess in the first place. I know these things and my only hope for a better Cyprus for all Cypriots is to believe that views such as yours are those of a minority of Cypriots.

It is not avoidance or sidestepping. It is a simple statement of reality based on 11+ years of watching you post here. As far as I am concerned it is plainly obvious what the intent of my comment to Jade was in regards to APC's post and that that intent was no different to that of Sotos in his post where he says in essence the same as me. I have said here countless times that I am not Turkish. Not legally, not emotionally not in any sense. I do say and have said countless times I am Cypriot, because I am Cypriot, legally ,emotionally and through generations of connection with the place that is Cyprus. Yet you still CHOSE to label me as 'Turk'. You make that choice not because it is true but because you want it to be true and it suits your agenda to do so. Your choice, and something that will not change in the future just as it was no doubt your and those like you choice before the events of 74. You will claim you hate me as a Turk and deny I am Cypriot because of the events of 74, where as a just as plausible claim is the events of 74 were a consequence of people like you choosing to hate me as a Turk and deny my status as a Cypriot.

the problem with gcs here is that they were not in cyprus in the 60s and early 70s and have no idea what life was like. they have not seen the devastation on the face of a mother has 3 children and another one on the way to be told that her husband has gone missing. never to be found. all you know is what you have been brainwashed with with the idea that it was tmt who pushed the tcs into enclaves. so you cannot understand any tc when they say the situation before 74 was unacceptable and the only way forward is two zones with guarantee. if you had an ounce of intelligence you would have arranged a civilised exchange of land and form it totally peacefully but you are as thick as shit and do not see the tcs as cypriots. so tough titties as charlui would say, you started it and you paid the price and if you dont like it fuck you to kingdom come.

some of us have seen it lordo, and it only proves one thing. One stupid mistake can cause harm for the next 5 decades. Avoiding the pitfalls of a stupid mistake will go a long way in not having to see what you describe again in the next 50
