I shouldn't, but

Where did I steal my laptop?? :/ really?

Humour does not translate well into plain text. I personally would give apc2010 the benefit of the doubt here (and from knowledge of his past postings) and suggest that actually through humour he is trying to highlight and ridicule the kind of stereotyping that says 'black - therefore - laptop stolen' rather than re enforce such stereotyping.

Yes, humour doesn't transfer well in this forum - but apc's joke did despite MR-from-NG taking it seriously and necessitating erolz (the tongue-twister) to intervene in his fellow Turk's defence whilst himself demonstrating his own inability to tell the difference between humour and Turkish mass killings of Greek Cypriots and continual racist apartheid keeping nearly 200,000 Greek Cypriots from their homes of centuries!

Because the holders of the Genocides record are trying to use every excuse to attack the native Cypriot people. They can't help it... attacking native people is the only thing they know how to do well.

Actually Sotos it is more because it is an easy way to IGNORE racism in Cyprus rather than do what should be done which is to confront it and condemn it. Such a shame given that in the previous thread I already linked to you were about the only Greek speaking Cypriot who was willing to unreservedly condemn the blatant racism shown HERE on this forum and not try and ignore it or deflect from it or excuse it on the basis that 'no TC can talk about racism in Cyprus'. :(

I am sure Jade, who is half Greek Cypriot, is feeling just as pissed that certain people are trying to hijack her thread for their usual anti-GC propaganda. It is quite obvious that those people are not interested in the feelings of Jade but merely looking to excuse their own racism against GCs. I think Jade made this clear when she said "Why are there posts about the TC?" "I don't wish to discuss the Turks, that's for another topic!".

It was a joke. Apc is known for his inappropriate humor. Personally I can understand that when you are feeling the way you do even jokes can hurt. The brother of a friend of mine is married with a black girl. My friend told me that initially his parents were not very warm about his brother relationship, but after they married and made them grandchildren everything is great between them. Similar story with another friend of mine who married a Russian girl. His parents tried to prevent him, told him that they wouldn't go to the wedding etc. In the end they got married (his parents were there), they recently had a child, and his parents now apparently love her. I'd say that the problem is much less with the new generations but I don't think it will go away completely any time soon. Just look at countries like the USA... they have a significant number of black people for centuries and there is still some prejudice about them by a minority. Just remember that those that look down at you are a minority... but of course it doesn't take many to spoil your mood... so TRY to ignore them by always keeping in mind that it is a problem that THEY are having, not you. How old are you?

It was not MR-from-NG that took it seriously - as clearly shown by his five laughing smiles. Nor was it MR-from-NG post that prompted me to post - as shown by the fact that I quoted in my reply Kokkinoujade post (which in turn had quoted MR-from-NG). If my post had been in response to MR-from-NG then that is the post I would have quoted.

Sorry, don't believe you. - it was to Jade you were defending (in your usual sly way) MR-from-NG.

Mr-from-NG joined in with the laughs (too many) thinking it was a racist slur that he sympathized with.

Where is the anti GC propaganda ? Is it TC that are posting about the 'racism' of TC given the situation in Cyprus and 'hypocrisy' of a TC talking about racism in Cyprus, rather than discussing the issue the OP is raising, that has led to the OP saying ""Why are there posts about the TC?" "I don't wish to discuss the Turks" ? You make out that is TC poster that have done this 'hi jacking' , yet that is not what I see when I read this thread. There is a 'hijacking' of the thread going on here but to make out that it is being done by TC with an anti GC agenda is to me absurd.

I am not that dissimilar to the OP. I am of 'mixed race' - a Cypriot father and an English mother. I have encountered racism in the UK for not being 'British' and racism in Cyprus for not being 'Cypriot'. No one would be happier to see a serious discussion of the issue the OP IS trying to talk about here than myself. However I know from previous experience no such discussion can be had here on this forum. I know that GiG implying that the issues the OP is describing is down to 'them' and their attitude and not a reflection of racism in Cyprus, is inevitable. I know that any acceptance that there is racism in Cyprus by the majority of posters here will come with a 'but it is the same everywhere' excuse, inevitably. I know that any comment about racism by a Cypriot who speaks Turkish will be turned into a discussion of the Cyprus problem by Cypriots who speak Greek, inevitably. I know all these things are inevitable because I have seen them here on this forum tiome and again over and over for more than 10 years now - and have shown some examples from the previous threads I have linked to here in this thread.

You are insane. I was defending - explaining the comment by APC which in my view from knowing APC from their previous posts here were not to be taken at 'face value' which is what I thought Jade was doing.

...jade, are you following this? and this is general chat.

sorry, i have to laugh. it's like a really good soap opera to me, you know the one, on TV many years, started in Brazil, translated to Spanish, before it gets Greek sub-titles, i hope you are enjoying it too.

...all the seething ugliness, extremes to express a beauty that exists as well as an extreme.

Really Erolz? Both Lordo and MR-from-NG made the claim that "gcs are just about the most racist people on this earth"... isn't this anti-GC propaganda? And then MR-from-NG tried to link this thread to the Cyprus Problem in the most obvious way.

I am not that dissimilar to the OP. I am of 'mixed race' - a Cypriot father and an English mother. I have encountered racism in the UK for not being 'British' and racism in Cyprus for not being 'Cypriot'. If you want a serious discussion then it should be taken for granted that there are various degrees of racism everywhere and that in fact GC are far from the "most racist people on this earth". We can't have a serious discussion when we are forced to constantly refute such ridiculous claims!
