Another Press release from the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces

Syrian Coalition Denies FSA Visit to Moscow

Press Statement Original in Arabic
Syrian Coalition
Media Office
October 27, 2015

In response to a statement attributed to the Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson, saying that a delegation from the Free Syrian Army visited Moscow, an official source in the Syrian National Coalition said:

The Syrian Coalition categorically denies allegations that a delegation from the Free Syrian Army visited Moscow, or that it held any meetings with Russian officials.

The Syrian Coalition considers these claims a part of the Russian misleading propaganda that aims at diverting attention from failures of the Russian aggression on the Syrian people, now in its fourth week, as well as from losses inflicted on Iranian occupiers and affiliated sectarian militias.

24 Hours of Russian Airstrikes Kill 75 Civilians in Douma

http://en.etilaf.org/all-news/local-new ... douma.html

The Russian air force committed a new massacre in Syrian today hitting a market in the district of Douma, near Damascus, with ten guided missiles, killing 55 civilians and wounding 125 others, including women and children in an initial toll.

This is the second massacre committed by the Russian invaders in less than 24 hours, as the Russian jet fighters bombed Douma’s only hospital, killing 20 civilians and wounding dozens more in addition to destroying the hospital.

According to a report prepared by the Syrian Coalition’s media office, nearly 1,716 people, including 172 children and 125 women, were killed in the first month of the Russian aggression on Syria. The Russian air force has begun bombing Syria since September 30.

The highest number of victims was recorded in Aleppo, with 508 people killed, followed by Damascus with 343 victims, and Homs with 249 people killed. (Source: Syrian Coalition)

The tide seems to be turning towards the Opposition Forces. This is exactly what I have been predicting and probably explains the change in Pootin's most recent rhetoric.

Regime Forces Humiliated in Darayya

Activists said that dozens of regime forces were killed or wounded in a failed attempt to storm the district of Darayya near Damascus earlier today.

Regime forces, backed by foreign militias and under heavy artillery cover, attempted to advance on the western sector of Darayya and managed to capture a number of buildings. Rebel fighters however outflanked the attacking forces, killing and injuring many of them.

Regime forces tried to distract rebel fighters in order to recover the bodies of their fallen comrades by attacking the town from the north and the east, but were repelled and forced to retreat after suffering more casualties. Rebel fighters said they destroyed a BMP armored vehicle belonging to regime forces and seized light weapons. (Source: Syrian Coalition)

IOM: Another Million May Leave Syria

oel Millman, spokesman for the International Organization for Migration (IOM), told international media that if a solution is not found to the five-year-old Syrian war, at least another 1 million Syrian refugees would leave the war-torn country.

He said that there are 6.3 million people displaced inside Syria and four million refugees in neighboring countries, stressing that there are no indications for an end in sight to the conflict in Syria. He added that we must prepare for the worst-case scenario with the approach of winter.

Adrian Edwards, spokesman for the High Commissioner of the United Nations for Refugees (UNHCR), said that the commission see displacement will continue inside Syria, adding that there are a lot of people in need of assistance. He warns that if they are not relieved, they will have to change their places and, eventually, will leave their country.

According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, 13.5 million Syrians are in need for relief aid.

President Khoja said earlier that the Russian invasion of Syria will destabilize the region and threaten its security.

Khoja stresses the need to establish a safe zone in the country's north and south to protect a Syrians from Assad’s barrel bombs and to curb the flow of refugees to outside Syria.

He added that a safe zone is needed to achieve stability, enable the displaced people return to their homes and to deliver relief aid more effectively. (Source: Syrian Coalition + Anadolu)

Well it looks like the Syrian Offensive is in shambles.

Rebels Capture 18 Regime Positions in Hama and Aleppo

Rebel fighters captured 18 regime positions in central and northern Syria after heavy fighting with regime forces in the last 48 hours.

They re-captured the town of Mork in rural Hama yesterday, killing dozens of regime forces and seizing dozens of military vehicles, heavy and light weapons.

Rebel fighters also took control of the towns of Janabra, Um Hartin and Atshan in northern rural Hama, and also took control of strategic hills and checkpoints in the area.

Activists said that the Makbara, Al-Sarro and Tina hills fell to rebels in southeastern rural Aleppo, adding that rebel fighters are advancing on regime positions near the town of Al-Wadihi. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
