This has nothing to do with anything.

Insan said that his mother opted out of taking 2 equivalent GC properties in the North because she already had a house in North Nicosia. That was her decision.

We hadn't allowed to access to our houses in south between 1963-1967... and my Grandpa was shot dead while he was watering the flowers in his garden at his house in north of nicosia... some a*seholes don't know about their history...

Insan, sorry for your loss, many others lost also.

You wrote an insensitive post asking how you can reclaim your properties whilst at the same time are denying (the regime you are supporting) 200,000 the use of theirs.

You were fortunate to get the advice you did, you should at least appreciate why your post attracted negative comments.

Living in a room in someone else's property is no proof you lived here. You need as a min the electricity bill to have been on your name for the period and they do check consumption.

I have never been a tenant in Cyprus, but my experience elsewhere is that landlords require a deposit equivalent to at least a month's rent (if not more) as well as a month's rent in advance, so I would say if you only have enough money to pay a month's rent, you might as well forget it.

Go to page 24.

Rental prices in this paper are much higher than what MPA offers... thanks anyway..

Do you know any other reliable and up to date property websites that i can search for propert and get in touch online? MPA properties is good... i went to their office in Strovolos and talked face to face... after they learned that im jobless they ignored me... i offered 3 months payment in advance for a 2 bedroom house but they don't even respond to my e-mail messages...

Rent it yourself DIRECTLY. There is a weekly ads newspaper called ΧΡΥΣΕΣ ΕΥΚΑΙΡΙΕΣ spells like hryses efkeries -->Golden opportunities.
Hundreds of ads for rent every week. The paper is very well organized in sections, have someone who knows Greek translate you.
Alternatively scan the relevant section and post it here. We will do it for you.
Forget about an estate Agent. They get 1-2 rents commission.

the paper has an online version but is not so rich as the printed one.

There are also English-language newspapers like the Cyprus Mail that have properties to rent advertised in them. However, as I have said, I don't think this is a serious inquiry. The aim is just to wind people up and promote a reaction, and it has succeeded. The idea of renting a house when you only have enough money for one month's rent is ludicrous.

Yeah.. for a rich snob like you it may sound ludicrous but for someone like me who own 2 houses in south and not taken any GC properties in north, responsible from a family of 2, have been paying 300 uk pounds rent monthly, besides jobless for 4 months and only income is 450 euros; sounds like very different... i might even be homeless and jobless while owning 2 detached houses in south... eh? It souds like you don't have sufficient knowledge and experience on difficulties one may face through the lifetime...

Sorry if I was wrong but you know what this forum is like.

Thanks for your understanding B25 but i don't have to make public the whole life of my family, eh? The 2 detached houses were rented to some GC families and I'm sure in some records of RoC they are registered as tenants of the houses we own... we have original title deeds and a probate made by Nicosia district court after my grandpa shot dead in 1964...

I think there is one thing that I and some other people may have misunderstood. I thought you were saying that you are only able to pay rent of 450 euro for one month and then nothing after that. Perhaps you are saying that you can afford a rent of up to 450 euro every month?

On the other hand I'm not denying anyones's right to their properties...Mine is a personal case under this thread and my views reharding the rights and freedoms of other's is best possible under the current circumstances... I'm not a dreamer, I'm not a perfectionist like you... just because my views are not like yours; you can't accuse me of denying other's right to their properties...

I'm a well known member of this forum... on many issues regarding the Cyprus problem i critisized the leaderships of both sides not only your side...
