GR, you know there's IPC that refugees can apply to claim their properties... in 13 years of time since it's establishment, solved the property claims of 685 GC claimants by compensating and/or exchanging and/or restitution... it costed 200 million UK pounds to IPC which waas funded by GOT...

So why shouldn't i GR... i wish everyone follows the required legal procedures, claims their property rights and gets what they wished... waiting for more than 41 years for a comprehensive solution to be found is more than enough...

IPC is a cruel joke, 685 claimants out of 6200 in nine years. Even if you are awarded compensation you still have to wait four years for it. Currently it's paying bugger all because it's broke. My guess is that mother Turkey is holding funds back pending a settlement.

I agree with you that it works very slow but 685 claimants have been fully paid and their claims resolved... the process in south is not any better than north... it takes very long and forces the claimants to reside in south at least 6 months... it sounds like a mutual joke eh?

you need to officially live in the free areas for a min of 6 months before you can apply for anything. To think someone would just give you their property on a single months rent, just stay in the occupied and petition your motherland to FO outta Cyprus then you can get your properties back no sweat.

Why Turkey? The occupiers are GC families and instead of to me, they pay the rent to the government of south... Did i or any member of my family occupy any GC properties in north? No. How GCs who have rights to their property, i too have the same rights to my property... compensatipn and or restitution and or exchange... any options we agreed upon at the end of the legal process...

Insan did you really expect anything but exactly the kind of response you have gotten here when you posted ?

If you want to look at ways you might be able to find a rental address in the RoC that you could use to meet the '6 month' rule then I would suggest that you contact reasonable people living in the South who may be able to help directly and off this board. If you would like some names and contact details of such people just ask, I know of several GC who would be more than willing to try and help you with this. I would also suggest you try and contact those TC who are already challenging the RoC '6 month' requirement at the ECHR and consider adding yourself top those pending cases. The 6 month rule was already removed for TC that were not resident in Cyprus in 74, under threat of just such a ECHR ruling. The RoC amended the law literally one day before the ECHR was due to make a judgement, exactly so they could amened it only for those TC not resident in Cyprus in 74 but leave it in place for the rest. It is almost certain that eventually a ECHR ruling or threat of such a ruling will force the RoC to remove this restriction for all cases.

To the other posters in general, you either believe that Cypriots who have lost access to and use of their properties in Cyprus as a result of the events of 74 should be allowed to reclaim them or receive fair compensation for that loss or you do not.
