More shocking news at Turkey's behaviour .... made all the more shocking because one of the biggest self-proclaimed 'voices' for 'truth' here on CF, erolz66, a man who is so busy trolling to make sure some 'deficiency' in the number of 'Hellenic Forces' running around trying to look after the human pawns of Erdogan's 'turfing' out of Turkey are safe in EU waters, is for some reason strangely silent on the matter of Turkish detainment of innocent bringers of truth!

The editor of Cumhuriyet, one of the last remaining bastions of media opposition to Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, had appeared in court that morning over a documentary he produced on government corruption. It is one of two cases against him – in February, he was released from prison pending a spying trial over a story on arms shipments to Syria.

“Turkey has never been a paradise for journalists but of course not a hell like this,” he said in an interview in his office. “Nowadays being a journalist is much more dangerous than ever and needs courage and self-confidence.

“It’s a kind of witch-hunt ... like McCarthyism in the US in the 1950s.”

That's alright, erolz66 ... safe in your Turkish occupied haven stolen from Greek people .... stay there and spread propaganda about Greeks not having enough 'fingerprint ' machines when they rescue the drowning kids Erdogan 'turfs' out of Turkey ....

Are you are so infatuated with me that you feel the need to 'call me out' for NOT having commented in a given thread, whilst accusing me of trolling you?

If you wanted my views on a given issue or thread you would only have to ask for them, but you do not want such. You just want to make claims about what YOU say my views are, detached from any actual reality. Same old same old.

Your contempt for actual reality in preference for your own propaganda is so extreme one could almost imagine that within a handful of post of me declaring publicly in a thread that "The man, Erdogan, is imo a nutter." , you would then accuse me of having " love for 'can do no wrong Erdogan'. Except you do not have to imagine this, it is all there in black and white. This then is what you do here on this forum, what you have always done here on this forum.

Greece: Journalists arrested, accused of taking photos in court

Michelle Trimborn
Two journalists from Italy and the USA have been arrested in the city of Polygyros and accused of taking photos of a trial inside a court room without permission, which is prohibited according to Greek law. ECPMF was informed directly about the case.
The two women, Italian film-maker Francesca Pagani and journalist Angela Anderson from the USA, were attending the court case of environmental activists who tried to stop the further development of privately-owned gold mines in the Halkidiki region. The journalists were accused by the judge and were arrested right after the trial by the local police.

Pagani and Anderson claim that they only filmed outside the courtroom and that they even possess a special licence allowing this. Having been in detention for more than two hours, they were released to face trial today, on 25th November. Their filming equipment is still in the hands of the local police.

ECPMF contacted the US embassy in Athens to find out more about the further proceedings. They confirmed the case stating that they informed Angela Anderson about local court procedures and provided her with contacts to English-speaking lawyers.

George Pleios, Professor for Communication and Media Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and ECPMF Supervisory Board Member, sees the case as an indicator for the worrying state of media freedom in Greece:
In my opinion this is another one case in the series of violations of the press and media freedom in Greece, which has raised significantly since the beginning of the economic crisis in 2010. This is the reason why Greece moved from 34th place only a few years ago to 91st place out of 180 this year in the Reporters Without Borders World Press Freedom Index.

He also urges the authorities for a quick reaction: "I think that the EU and the Greek authorities should take all necessary measures in order to implement high media freedom standards in Greece – it should have been done long ago."

Oliver VujovicECPMF condemns the arrest of the journalists and calls on authorities for a fair trial. The situations for journalists in Greece has been worsening as consequence of the economic crisis, leaving media in a bad state and making many journalists unemployed. Also the ongoing existence of a defamation law, making it easy to convict journalists for their findings, is strongly criticised. ECPMF’s partner SEEMO sent a delegation to Greece in the beginning of November 2015 to urge the authorities to create better working conditions for journalists and respect press freedom laws.

ECPMF is in contact with its partners in Greece to observe the case of Pagani and Anderson. Updates will be posted to this website and on social media.

Disgraceful....wherever it happens...as I trust all will agree...

And I can predict how one will react.. However..my position on Turkey is clear, It is not a fit candidate for Eu membership as its human rights record, of which this is but one part, is unacceptable.

Yes, you have been trolling me for months. The discrepancy in your cries of 'wanting truth' and yet ignoring every other thread that mentions Turkey in a bad light is something that deserves mention.

But of course you make another NON-POST, above, because you would rather continue your trolls rather than offer anything rational against what is happening in Turkey.

Shame on you and as far as I'm concerned, it highlights again that you are NOTHING but a TROLL. My point has been made.

End of.

And I wish you'd do the same!

But Erolz had not ignored this topic. He had thanked Tim for posting an excellent article by the two journalists, now nearly two months back..

Erolz,

I am wondering about gIG's response in the context of theory of mind, in particular An ability to guess what a person might be thinking and how they might respond in given conditions, where here, apart from your thanking Tim for posting an English Translation of an article by one of the imprisoned journalists. about which your were positive, gIG has formed the view that you are somehow supportive of what Turkey had done.

I personally think that her assumptions may demonstrate a serious deficiency in her theory of mind where with no evidence to support her belief in your what she thinks your opinions are, she has formed such views.

Defects in theory of mind are one possible feature of Schizophrenia.......

And as I said, over the last couple of months, he has relentlessly trolled my posts and derailed my threads with his countless posts! Yet as you confirm, There are lots of websites offering cars eg Autotrader, etc, and lots of car dealers but only the bigger more switched on dealers seem to have websites with lists and prices. Try a websearch. Do not be be surprised that their is no price on the Screen in may show rooms. Prices for S/H cars can be higher than you might expect. Some people buy and bring in from the UK (there are companies e.g. Algy's Autos) that specialise in arranging this !

Now stop TROLLING!

But there was one - complimentary of an article written by one of the imprisoned journalists - so you are wrong on two points -
1) that he had not posted on this topic - he had -
2) that I had confirmed
None here!
which again is not correct when I drew your attention to the fact he had contributed.

Rather your post was an attempted troll of Erolz, so I suggest take your own advice or in Mackem-speak "Wind yer neck in, Bonny lass!"
