...if he can learn to keep his mouth shut, he has a chance at being a great President.

There is bound to be a campaign of 'Sniping' now that the Clintons have had their arses kicked (well and truly) despite the exposure of 'Angelina Jolies' bare arse as an incentive to win votes.

A few packs of 'Presidential Chewing Gum' distributed among the crowds attending the 'Clinton Rallies' which were graced with the presence of so many 'Celebs' proved to be hardly enough to sway the American voter THIS time, better luck next.

I think 'President Elect Donald Trump' should be applauded for his performance throughout the process of contesting the heavily loaded opposition provided by the 'Clinton Clan', even to the extent that 'Obama' himself threw his weight behind 'Hillary'.

Now that it is all over, the American public should give 'Donald Trump' a chance to prove himself, he comes across as a straight talking kind of guy and THAT attribute (if allowed to continue) is refreshing enough in the realm of politics, who knows ?, it might even work and drag the 'Yanks' out of the deep shit they have placed themselves in with their 'Foreign Policies' etc.

I wonder what the reaction of Israel haters on this forum will be as Trump announces his support of Israel.

" Just two days after his stunning election victory, President-elect Donald Trump delivered a message to Israel, describing his personal affection for the Jewish state and hopes that his administration will be able to strengthen ties strained by eight years of tense relations between Israel and the Obama administration.

Calling Israel a “ray of hope,” Trump released the statement to the Israel HaYom newspaper, which is owned by prominent Jewish Republican donor, Sheldon Adelson. Adelson backed Trump in this year’s election towards the end of the race, giving tens of millions of dollars to the Trump campaign and pro-Trump political action committees"

Despite having repeatedly claimed while campaigning that he would repeal Obama's healthcare measures in full, in his first interview following election, Trump spoke of retaining certain aspects of Obamacare. Bernie Sanders is right, in my view, in saying that progressives must support any progressive moves that Trump takes.

This proves that he can be conciliatory and not rush in like a bull in a china shop.
Much is said during election campaigns and little is carried out subsequently.

Well, yes, I am still expecting a disaster, but we have to wait until the initial honeymoon period is over and until he starts making blunders before criticising. On the other hand, is it not possible that he will appoint experienced, knowledgable people who actually understand how the job is done to take over the day to day running of state business, while he steps back and acts like a constitutional monarch, touring the backwaters and telling the rednecks there, to their glee, about lunatic policies like building that wall along the Mexican border and barring all Muslims from entering the country that are soon to be implemented, while all along the status quo continues? On the other hand, if he really tries to take over at the top and implement the zany policies he has spoken of, I only see disaster coming and that will be the time to react.

trump is in the berlusconi mould and will do as good as he did for himself and bankrupt the usa even further then they already are.

there is talk of impeaching him for all his bankruptcies and the groping of women too. with a bit of luck he will not actually get there.

That was of course after he had talked with Obama. He obviously listened to Obamas concerns and agreed to modify his intent. That is a business man talking as opposed to a politician. He is not forcing a policy ...... just what would be best for the USA.

The one thing that struck me during the TV coverage of both in The Oval Office, was Trumps facial expressions! He needs an image coach ..... he seems to scowl at lot , hunch forward and his purses lips ..... IMO that demonstrates an 'aggressive' stance ..... he needs to relax a bit? Mind you, it must be a daunting prospect for him in a world that is totally new. :)
