There is more to the story apparently .........

Why is Trump getting it in the neck when this immigration fiasco was Obamas policy not Trumps. It was dated 2015, all Trump referenced/added was a ban on Syrians ...... the other countries were in Obamas Executive order.

There are children younger than this in Australian detention centres.

Which Trump might actually accept into America.

As to threats:

North Korea has conducted 5 Nuclear Tests but what Japan and Australia do not know is whether the warheads are small enough to go on one of their missiles, which have the range to reach as far away as Australia. The only US territory they can reach is Hawaii.

One of the biggest defence Projects in History, is the Australian/French Submarine Deal for 12 Shortfin Baracuda Submarines which have the capability of launching ICBM. These Submarines are worth more money than a USS Nimitz Aircraft Carrier.

Is this a move to develop a nuclear capability or deterrence? The deal was signed last year, just in time for Trump.

Trump is on a highway to destruction.

reports have just come out about Australian PMs phone call with Trump. before getting into specifics, its important to note that Australia is probably the most important ally. Australia has been in every single war as the USA since WW1. They share Intelligence through Echelon and a whole lot more. The bonds between Australia and USA are like no other and far exceed anyone else.

Well during the phone conversation with Australia, the following has been reported to occur:
1) trump accused Australia for trying to export America's next Boston Bomber,
2) trump told Turnbul that the refugee deal was a "BAD DEAL",
3) trump said he had phone calls with 4 other leaders and that this was the worse one.

He also spent about 10 minutes bragging about his election win of the US College.

On top of that, trump asked Australia for more aircraft, ships AND TROOPS to defeat ISIL, and the Australian PM was hesitant to reply to this saying that he would have to look at what the actual plans were on how ISIL can be defeated first.

Australia also made it clear that there will be no military cooperation at ANY level with Russia or Iran irrespective of any decisions trump made and that it would not participate in any action involving these countries. The phone conversation was then cut short.

So it appears that the USA may not be taking Australian refugees after all, and it also looks like that Australia may withhold Military Support from the USA.

If all that is true, then the situation with the rest of the world is very grim.

It also explains that you can visibly detect worrying body language from World Leaders like Turnbul, Theresa May, and Shinzo Abe.

it also explains the Japanese State Visit to Australia to discuss TPP and Defence among other things including much closer ties.

There are fractures appearing everywhere.

And if that is the sentiment now between Australia and USA, basically no one else has a hope in hell.

trump is going to be very damaging, and personally, I would like to think he won't last more than 12 months. It will be interesting to see what plan they actually come up with to defeat ISIL which Australia seems to also think will be a long and protracted contest similar to Afghanistan and even involve Troops in Syria. A scenario Australia is unlikely to jump into.

" More Americans support Donald Trump's travel ban than oppose it, poll shows
The poll finds 31 per cent of Americans feel 'more safe' because of the ban, compared with 26 per cent who say they feel 'less safe'"

" Both Australian-run detention camps have been the subject of sustained criticism by the UN, human rights groups and other nations over systemic sexual and physical abuse of those detained, including rapes, beatings, and the murder of one asylum seeker by guards; child sexual abuse; chronic rates of self-harm and suicide; dangerous levels of sustained mental illness, harsh conditions and inadequate medical treatment leading to several deaths.

The majority of the refugees held on the detention island by Australia – most for more than three years – are Iranian, one of the nationalities named under Trump’s sweeping immigration bans announced last weekend."

But to be effective they have to have missiles (Nuclear?) and Australia cannot produce them for themselves. These subs are not nuclear powered, they have diesel engines I believe, this will limit their range. The US under International Law and the UN restrictions, cannot supply nuclear missiles ...... Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty? This will mean you have no nuclear deterrent to put into your expensive toys. They are about as useful as the UK's aircraft carriers that have no aircraft!

I think Australia's honeymoon with the US is over .........history shows us that ex-'best friends' of the US do not fare very well.

Paphitis previously said:
......... its important to note that Australia is probably the most important ally.(to the US) its important to note that Australia is probably the (US’s) most important ally.

Not any more ..... the hired help just spat its dummy! I hope Turnbull was not the one that curtailed the call abruptly?
The bonds between Australia and USA are like no other and far exceed (those with) anyone else.

Maybe they were but that bond is clearly unravelling!
On top of that, trump asked Australia for more aircraft, ships AND TROOPS to defeat ISIL, and the Australian PM was hesitant to reply to this saying that he would have to look at what the actual plans were on how ISIL can be defeated first.

I didn’t see any mention of that in the report? So your support for your best friend was conditional?
Australia also made it clear that there will be no military cooperation at ANY level with Russia or Iran irrespective of any decisions trump made and that it would not participate in any action involving these countries. The phone conversation was then cut short.

........ and Trump will say “After all we have done for them! Where is our ‘best friend’ when we need them?’
It will be interesting to see what plan they actually come up with to defeat ISIL which Australia seems to also think will be a long and protracted contest similar to Afghanistan and even involve Troops in Syria. A scenario Australia is unlikely to jump into.

Again .... not mentioned in the report! Maybe this is why Trump will cooperate and coordinate his campaign with Putin? Putin obviously has a wider concept than The Australians. But Australia is now ‘out-of-the-loop’. You cannot be relied upon any more to do the US’s bidding. Australia is beginning to think for itself!
