LOL!!. We are far better than Spain (the paradise of unemployment) and Italy (seems like a southern america corrupt country, with at least 4 criminal organizations).

No Spain does not seem like a South American Country. You sure you're not better than Portugal?

There is no comparison between us and either Italy or Spain I'm afraid. None whatsoever.

Unemployment and corruption are 2 seperate things.

But you can believe what you want. You don't strike me as the sharpest tool in the shed.

Yes, i'm sure, we're better than Portugal, Spain and Italy. Italy's bureaucracy is like a South American contry, a lot but a lot worse than us.
And i know spanish people who live in Cyprus and all said Cyprus is better than Spain, for business and quality of life.

I am sure you definitely not better than Portugal.

Speaking of South America, I place Cyprus somewhere amid Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador.

Colombia?

There's no way!
Cypriot authorities are tough on drugs, in Colombia it's a national source of revenue amongst the corrupt elite who protect the druglords.

It's sad when ex Pats, who don't speak the language and don't want to either, generalize to the extreme and spread misinformation amongst themselves like a broken telephone.
I've heard alot of outrageous theories and accusations, many of which I've had to correct.

That's why I warn people on taking advice from Ex Pats, they live in their own little paranoid bubbles.
Get the facts straight from multiple sources before making decisions.

Expats have a measuring stick that is probably why they are so outspoken. They are also not on the Purple Circle whereas many Cypriots keep their mouth shut because they got their rusfeti and Purple Circle.

At the end of the day, these are the things that are very telling for me:
1) the Mari incident and the accountability of those responsible,
2) the accountability of Laiki and BoC senior execs,
3) the closure of CyAir without any inquiry and the cover up of all the facts and lack of disclosure to the people. There are a lot of things people should have been aware of.

Yes Colombia. Cyprus might be a little better than Colombia but not by much.

No you can't because there is accountability in Australia.

Just imagine if the Australian Government pulled off a similar thing with QANTAS, or an Australian PM stored terrorist seized arms and explosives in a work area, harbour or residential area with no plans of disposal? Or just imagine all of Australia's Banks deciding to bet the house on the Greek Economy!

What do you think would happen?

Sure there are isolated incidents of bad cops in Australia.

But one Aussie Cop also pulled over the Australian PM and issued him with a ticket. Overall, our police are good, thorough and very well trained. So the police forces are not corrupt.

You also can't get the Australian Police to do some things for you when you're in the Purple Circle. You will likely get arrested.
