Do you agree with Paphitis assesment on Syria

Postby miltiades » Wed Feb 17, 2016 9:40 am

Paphitis has consistently posted on this thread, all must be aware of his views.

Here is a latest view or statement.

" What counts for me is capability and numbers and how long a conventional war can be sustained. And Pootin wouldn't last a couple of weeks against Turkey's military capability."

And another.
"Russia can't cope with Turkey's depth of field. End of story."
And another.
"Victory is our old fart, morally and politically. Politically, Assad is a dead horse!

Do you share his views on the Syrian issue, do you think that Assad is a dead horse ?

Cast your votes folks.

I haven't voted. I will make that abundantly clear.

I don't have the inclination to involve myself with your childish and stupid antics.

Should have made the poll transparent you silly ding.

It is VERY transparent GP, it asks members if they agree or not with your assesment on the Syrian ramifications.

And there are many people that would agree with me. There might be a few people on this forum with a brain.

Don't delude yourself. No one can possibly agree with you if they do their research and vote without bias.

But that is ok, I will leave you to your silly games. You voted for yourself btw! How on earth can someone vote for themselves? Do you agree with yourself old timer? By geez you're pretty dum!

I don't read stupid polls, especially yours, and when they are clearly going to be STUPID and full of drama.

And you voted NO of course.

Not a problem.

Why don't you start a poll like this?

"Do you agree Miltiades is Intelligent?

Yes or No?

See how many vote NO!

Sorry, but I can't answer the question given that there are only two stark choices. I think there is a lot of merit in Paphitis' arguments about Syria, and he obviously has a lot of knowledge of military matters, but that does not mean that I agree 100% with every pronouncement he makes, either.

I may not agree with much of what Paphitis says but I respect his right to do so. I think to have a poll is just childish and does not warrant a vote from me anyway.

I see the challenge as being able to show Paphitis that he is wrong (IMO)) through an exchange of views and perceived facts ..... not ridicule and name calling. It maybe an uphill struggle as obviously Paphitis' views are well ingrained but he is no idiot. But often, I feel irrational ..... for example:

He recognises that the SAS and the SBS can have a disproportionate effect in a conflict when they oppose forces numerically stronger than themselves. At 20:1 or even greater odds it would not be a set back for a well trained SAS force. However, he cannot see that the same will apply if the Turkey, its Air Force and Allies take on the SAA, their allies and the Russian Air Force. For what I think are obvious reasons.

So I will not vote ...... I will argue instead!!!! :)
