This could be the beginning of the end of the corrupt EU, and good riddance for they have done for us. They have destroyed our country. F Them all.

You were ecstatic to be part of this exclusive Christian club. You lied and cheated your way into it and now you complain? There is no pleasing you people is there? I bet my bottom dollar you all thought you'd be getting everything you asked for as soon as you joined and resolve the Cyprus mess at a wave of your magic EU wand. Welcome to the real world B25.

Endemic corruption, greed, mismanagement, selfishness, nepotism these were the reasons of the collapse of our economy, not the EU.

Agree with Milti.

The economic crisis was felt far and wide. it was regional if not global.
The poorest and most corrupt were ultimately the most vulnerable and were affected the most.

Hopefully now we can continue to clean up our house.

Τhe GDP growth rate in real terms during the fourth quarter of 2015 is estimated at 2.5% over the corresponding quarter of 2014.
Highest since 2008 and above the EU average.

Rubbish we fulfilled all the criteria, unlike your motherland trying to get in under dictatorship. We were not to know we were going to get stabbed in the back, how could we?

They have proven themselves to be worst than useless and we don't want them anymore. We were hoping that your motherland may have modernised somewhat so we could talk properly, but alas, you have turned into a shit hole and the middle east with it, how can you negotiate with a F madman. Look what he is doing to your own countrymen, maybe you would fit in very well there, bye bye.

That's true actually.
People tend to confuse us with Greece who cooked the books.

The difference is, we got greedy.
Greece's economic collapse was different to that of Cyprus.

Greece didn't cook any books to get in. The books that were cooked were done by the EU's bankers so that they can get their hands on Greece!

And then because Greece was in, Cyprus could follow!

The downfall of both the Greek and Cypriot economies was entirely due to corrupt practices .
ON ONE HAND THE Cypriot BANKERS POURED BILLIONS OF EUROS INTO THE AILING ECONOMY OF GREECE EARNING THEMSELVES HUGE COMMISSIONS.

Paying tax to the Greeks is and always will be anathema. Greece once again has contributed to the ....welfare of Cyprus

I blame no one else but the Greeks and the Cypriot megalomaniac crooks. Why on earth should I or anyone else have my hard earned money STOLEN from me. This is what the fucking bastards did to me and others, Stole our dosh, now they have the audacity to blame the EU, and so does GIG who wouldn't differentiate between a Greek crook and Mother Theresa. WE, THEY, the greedy amongst us caused the collapse, no other fucker did.

The bankers that stole your money have NOTHING to do with Greece. Not a penny of your money found its way to Greek pockets - not even to help subsidize university places for Cypriots.

Different actually...

In the case of Greece it was primarily fiscal
Cyprus was banking.

Common denominator Greed? Absolutely.
