Another prime example of a Kurdish political prisoner in Turkey is Selahattin Demirtaş, Co-Chair of the HDP, and Cumhuriyet again did a great service in publishing an interview with his wife about the night the police came to arrest him, and again they have provided an English translation, available here:

The ten Cumhuriyet newspaper staff members who have now been on remand for over four months without any credible, concrete charges being made against them and with no indictment having been drafted, are taking their case to the European Court of Human Rights. There is an article about it on the paper's English-language website:

Erdoğan needs Mafia gangsters to do his dirty work for him. Says it all. Meanwhile the leader of the small Islamist Saadet party has come out in a scathing attack on Erdoğan and his crime sydicate - sorry, so-called political party - in a recent speech. It is amazing stuff (in Turkish, I'm afraid):

The indictment in the Cumhuriyet 'show trial' has finally been drafted after the defendants have spent five months in pre-trial detention. There is an article on the indictment in the paper's own English-language section:

Lawyers in Istanbul have started holding a weekly 'Justice Watch' at the city's main judicial complex in support of their colleagues among the Cumhuriyet detaines, who have now been in jail for more than five months.

It seems that police intervened violently against even the above and broke it up. Seems there's no room in Erdoğan's fascist Turkey for anything but adulation of the 'great' leader.

It seems that one of the protesting lawyers suffered a broken nose in the police intervention.
