I’m sure you also subscribe to the western notion that America was right to nuke Hiroshima and Nagasaki in WWII because “it saved lives” even though they nuked about 100,000 citizens per city… while the relatively minuscule number of civilian casualties from Russia’s bombings; in an attempt to rid Syria of ISIS, are worthy of a thread!

I’m starting to get comfortable to the idea that apart from suffering from severe hypocrisy you must also be plain stupid.

Do you know what a “barrel bomb” is?

It’s typically a gas cylinder with its top cut open, packed with some explosive material and then welded back…

Now, if you were smart and/or had some military experience you would know that professional militaries like the Syrian Army, don’t use such junk because they have plenty of proper munitions to use and that these makeshift projectiles are the hallmark of terrorists.

The price you can pay for what some of us do in places like this everyday. If you happen to live in the wrong country.

The links are worth looking at and translating, too.

yes very interesting.

it's not an uncommon story in Russia unfortunately, as the Russian people are suffering one of the worse criminal and repressive regimes on the planet.

And all this from the Guardian, which isn't known for its Russia bashing and is considerably left leaning (not that there is anything wrong with it), but you would normally expect such an article from the Telegraph rather than the Guardian if it were as is alleged by the warped and psychotic as a propaganda piece.

These are the barrel bombs he was talking about. he wasn't talking about some improvised weapon being made by some poor bugger trying to defend themselves.

Dropped from a helicopter? Where did you get these daft illustrations from, the CNN or some Australian network?

The SAA has STOCKPILES of sophisticated guided warheads that are far more lethal than that unguided barrel garbage used by amateurs.

The SAA has absolutely no reason to use such garbage.

Keep reading FAKE NEWS and your IQ will go from your usual 85 to 65!

it's in just about every global news media on the planet.

not just Australian, or American media.

And the only thing that's FAKE is TRUMP. FAKE news was to define fake news sources which use Social media and Twitter and which would masquerade as legit networks like MSNBC and such like.

saying things like Guardian, Washington Post, and NYT are Fake news because Mr trump doesn't like the inauguration attendance numbers is dangerous. Very dangerous and an attempt by Trump to undermine the free press in America.

it will also backfire as Democracy will always prevail in America thanks to the First Amendment.

Both of you are idiotic!

now I repeat, because you probably missed my EDIT.

And the only thing that's FAKE is TRUMP. FAKE news was to define fake news sources which use Social media and Twitter and which would masquerade as legit networks like MSNBC and such like which masquerade as NBC on facebook and which have attracted followships of hundreds of thousands.

saying things like Guardian, Washington Post, and NYT are Fake news because Mr trump doesn't like the inauguration attendance numbers is dangerous. Very dangerous and an attempt by Trump to undermine the free press in America. the question is WHY? I have a theory on that as well, yet to be proven 100%

Calling something fake because it has an article you don't like, is just incredible and where pootin and trump want to take this world. What you can't seem to understand is that we have a free press and we always will.

it will also backfire as Democracy will always prevail in America thanks to the First Amendment.

So FAKE = YOU, Robin Hood, the Pootin mouthpieces, and TRUMP himself

Paphitis, I’ve spent some years of my life in the military and have studied many things military out of interest and for obvious political reasons.

I assure you… you do NOT and CANNOT throw 100kg barrels from helicopters.

You’re better off using a guided rocket that your chopper is designed to fire if you’re serious about attacking your enemy.

The illustrations you posted are stupid and were drawn up for the consumption of ignorant fools like politicians and UN officials.

yes you can. You can throw anything from a helicopter and you can modify them to carry barrel bombs.

All helicopters have this simple thing called a Hook, so they can lift a jeep, Hummer, a 105mm Howitzer, and some can even lift a Tank and APC such as the Chinook. The Hook is released from a simple switch on the collective.

Helicopters can also Air Drop supplies, ammunition, water and equipment.

Seen it about 100 times.

And no, these barrel Bombs are designed to cause maximum damage and kill as many people as well as insurgents. They did not know in which buildings the insurgents were all the time, so they needed an indiscriminate form of attack - a tactic the Coalition do not use.
