Depends on your age, if you are too old for the army you will be asked to do a year in Civil Defence which basically consists of one night a week.
It's better to opt for a regular service... we are about to have a war here...
I might even be to old for that...though before I got family commitments if the Tur*s had crossed the line I would have been offering to carry a rifle against them.
