There are even warnings for people traveling to Cyprus for some reason and I think the warning refers to the Pontian Russians again. But in particular, there are warnings about Australians traveling to the unrecognized "TRNC"

BTW, Australia has personnel on the ground working with the UN in Cyprus so if someone gets into trouble the Australian Government can send one of its Federal Police. Australia does not use British proxies either. It can use Canadian proxies though. But Australian citizens get evacuated from Akrotiri if there was a war started.

Once again, people don't listen. I didn't when I crossed the Green Line and traveled to the occupied part of Cyprus. The Australian Government frowns upon it.

Traveling to places like Syria is pretty much almost illegal too. If you got Syria on your passport you will get interrogated about your business there.

Here are the Cyprus Travel warnings:

Russian travel warnings are actually very serious. Russia is flagged red, which means they are discouraging travel to Russia due to anti Western sentiment. Russian travel warnings here:

Just like I said. Despite the numerous warnings about Russia they won't reject any request for assistance from their Embassy there.
That's what the Embassies are for!
Even in Syria, where they make it very clear that they cannot provide assistance, they advice their citizens to call their embassy in Lebanon who in turn will act as a proxy.

The reality is, there isn't much the Australian Embassy can do to help anyone if they find themselves in trouble in Russia. The Russians systematically harrass Australian Embassy staff whenever they get the opportunity just to show you where they stand in Russia's eyes.

Also, closing down an embassy is an option for Australia and I do not think they even care about the fact they can't assist Australian Nationals overseas. It is prudent for Australian Travellers to be careful wherever they travel and not depend on the Australian Government. There are many countries without even an Embassy and relations with Russia are extremely cold or on the floor anyway.

Australia is considering to boycott the World Cup, so closing all embassies in Russia isn't a far off option.

We didn't sow a think Pyro.

MH17 was shot down by Russia with 45 Australian Citizens on board. Just to show you where the Russian mentality is of their political elites.

We have a lot of reasons to not like them.

So there will be a lot of people who would be happy to see Australia boycott the World cup and close down its embassies and give the Russians their marching orders from Canberra.

Nothing to do with Russian mentality. It was a war zone where accidents like that may happen.
And I don't think that's the only thing that's itching your government about Russia

Australians can't play football anyway, so ....good riddance. Your views on Russia are abhorent for a man who has never been either to Russia or any of the ex soviet nations. You are not the the least objective due to your immense hatred of Russia.
You are FIRED !!

My views on Russia are abhorrent are they?

And what about your views on Belarus and MH17? Maybe you are just a pussy-whipped old sleaze bag!

As for Football, the Australian Team is ranked higher than Greece, Turkey and Cyprus and it always qualifies but it will be a big slap for Russia if Australia and a few others decide to boycott. Maybe their views on Russia are abhorrent too hey?

I think paranoid would be more accurate!

MH17 is a bit like Assad’s gas attacks, Russia hacking the US elections and Trumps extra-marital love life, ........, plenty of accusations but still no evidence to prove it! The only link between Russia and MH17 is that it was a Russian BUK missile, most likely of a type made in Ukraine and it was that they believe probably bought it down. I don't think there is any evidence linking this incident to Russia. The evidence so far appears to point in another direction. The Russian connection is what is known as a ‘conspiracy theory’ drummed up by Bellingcat with their computer graphics and social media evidence !
