Cap: <<<< cough croak choke cough croak choke >>>>

WTF is wrong with you woman?

I didn't like the song or the presentation - nothing really Cypriot about it - and frankly, most people I know didn't like it either. I truly thought Greece would struggle to justify giving it 12 points and dignifying it. But their brotherliness shone through and they rose above bad taste to support us. If Cap cannot understand who in this world are truly going to stand by us, then we are lost forever.

The Greek youth all know her for Christ’s sake… that’s where this singer lives since age 5 and has a career and fan-base, so there was nothing shocking about her getting 12 points from Greece on this occasion.

This is probably the only time when Greece’s 12 points were honest!

You could've bragged about all the other years giving 12 points but not this one!

Hmmm

All I see is you denigrating Cyprus' entry and effort and praising Greece using dubious and unconvincing 'evidence' (Greece was one of 6 countries that gave max 12 jury votes to Cyprus). With Cypriots (or 'Cypriots' as RW would say) like you, what need is there for enemies ?

Cyprus wasn’t robbed at all. It wasn’t the best song either.

Probably, the country that actually got robbed if anything was Austria who won the professional jury voting. Once it was open to the public, anything was possible. Australia came last in the vote but it was not the worst song. In fact, it was probably in the best 8 or so.

The Cypriot entrant was ok, but you can’t say it was better than the Israeli entrant. The Cypriot singer was too much of a Beyoncé or Grande knock off. She was relying on her sex appeal to get through. Nothing original about it.

The Israeli girl had no such luxury. Her song would have been 10 times harder to execute. Not my taste but you can’t say that Eleni was better than her. The Israeli song was just one of those quirky Eurovision songs that was in the unusual arty farty side of the spectrum. It was also a song with a serious message - bullying. So it was making a statement. There was no such statement from the Cypriot entrant.

Neither Cyprus or Israel should have won it though. To my mind, Austria, Sweden or Norway should have taken it out. They were much better.

Sex appeal was used to cover up for no talent!

That is the bottom line Get Real!

She is only third rate in Greece too. She was trying to be a Beyoncé, Rihanna or Grande knock off but they can sing and she cant.

It’s pretty obvious that some of you here have problems with Albanians… while literally MILLIONS of U-tubers from around the world, have expressed their appreciation and admiration of this girl’s performance. I have never seen a reaction like this before.

The fact that so many people including yourself are comparing her with US superstars that have had MILLIONS of dollars poured into them, is telling of how phenomenal she is/was... and not a dollar has been invested in her yet!

I so envy her agent if she’s got one, and if she doesn’t… I hope she picks me, for that girl is a fucking goldmine!

She compares herself to these superstars. It must be her ambition like all girls but when you try to even copy the tones of Rihanna and even appear to be darker skinned with a fake tan, then you are going to cop it big time.

I got no problem with Albanians. The girl is a bombshell. No question about that. And that is why record companies pick girls like that and try to make singers out of them. It’s like the Marlboro adds.

It’s not often you get the likes of actual plump singers like Adele (or the Israeli girl), who are overweight but really can actually friggin sing like they are possessed.

I just gave you my 10 cents worth because you were harping on about Satan and Israel. I gave up trying to explain Eurovision along time ago. No one takes it seriously. The thing is, Cyprus could come up with an out there song next year like Israel did and win it and everyone will be scratching their head.

But the Albanian girl wasn’t the best. People voted and she appealed to the voters but so did Israel. The jury thought Austria was the best.

I thought the Cyprus song was brilliant and the performance excellent. A very catchy number that although not in the slightest Cypriot it was as good as any of the well known " catchy" tunes in the charts.
Im pleased that Belarus gave the maximum 12 points.
Personally I would have preferred a ....zeimbrkiko or a tsifteteli or even a chatisto !! Well done Cyprus, well done to the lady.

Did you know that this year Eurovision's theme was supposed to be ballads?
About half the countries did oblige like they should. That's the reason we had so many ballads this year.
Now what kind of competition is this when half the countries break the rules is beyond me.
If you are talking for the quality of the singer then Estonia with her opera singer should come on top.

Yet he mickey mouse song won!
A song should be able to be sung by those who like it. Who would ever be able to sing the chicken song in his/her bathroom??
Hell some people could even manage to sing Lena's satellite by just choking their throats.

I have no complaints with other countries giving Cyprus maximum points. But your attempt to score some cheap point for supposedly supporting a song because it takes the name of Cyprus (regardless of personal taste) has a number of undertones which have been pointed out in the past.

I happen to believe each country should sing in their native language. (It might give the UK that much-needed advantage. :P )
