Bollocks, its not just on dog food they do this, they do it on everything. Check also their 'Special offers' when you get 3 of something taped together at a special price, then price up 3 individual items, price is the same. So no actual offer at all. F con artists, you need to double check everything these days.

I think the best way to complain is to raise your voice so that everyone in the store hears and politely but rather severely make your disgust known to all.
It has become the norm to charge ludicrous prices as the traders know that Cypriots do not complain as they fear that they may be classed as ...poor.
A few days ago I popped into a large store, quite large, that does NOT display prices. Wanted a pair of summery shoes.
450 euros she said. Fuck that I said, you taking the piss. If you can't afford it she said don't buy it. She was a stuck up village peasant !! Im not a rich man I said, only have a couple of million !!!

If you were stupid enough to walk into a store that had no pricing (which is illegal anyway ) you deserve all you get.

I avoid anything that is for sale with no price shown, especially cars.

Mate I don't know which part of Cyprus you are in but in Limassol you will be hard pressed to find a shop displaying prices.
As for it being illegal, well its also illegal to go through red lights and break the speed limit.

Frankly, I have reached the conclusion that in Cyprus prices for general goods, especially chemist products are a daylight robbery. Anything from sun tan cream, vitamins, health essentials, as well as ....viagra, are at exorbitant prices. By the way I get my ...viagra free. The NHS offers all diabetics 4 tablets a month, that is once a week !!!!
I can just about manage once a ...year !!

The reason is now crystal clear!!
They are ripping off Cypriots right left and centre! All chemists charge exactly the same price, obviously they must have a powerful union.Prior to going to London last month I run short of my diabetic medicines, took my prescription to a Limassol chemist and was charged €186. !!! Not having bought them in the UK before since I get them free, apart from uttering a disgust at the price I paid.
On my visit to the Uk last month I asked the chemist that I have been using for over 25 years to price the prescription for me. £54.94 !! What a rip off I thought !!.

Another item that my doctor in London asked me to get, not available on NH, was B12 tablets, BComplex , at £6.90, UK made.
Went to a Limassol chemist today, well the exact product at €11.90. Daylight bloody robbery. UK made, no duty applicable, yet these roque traders driving around in Mercedes and BMWs are living it up at YOUR expense. A further item of antiseptic nature, in the UK £2.59, in Limassol €6.95 !!
Do Cypriots complain about prices or di they get orgasmic at being fleeced.

you are comparing apples and oranges milti, out of all people should have known better than this.

you raised 2 points
1...costs of medicines at the retail level between the uk and cyprus.
a)...well milti the sales output in the uk is a lot more than in cyprus so the uk costs to the chemists is a lot cheaper
b)...local delivery due to higher consumed volumes whereas in Cyprus lower consumption at a higher cost
c)... not only you need to consider shipping costs, probably shipped in a refrigerated airplane container
...so when you add these up the costs, in Cyprus it has to be higher...

2...you are comparing a UK health system/service that provides the medication for free to retail pricing for the same goods in cyprus --- i think you are a confuse puppy milti,
if you expected a similar or the same price as what the uk system offers at the retail end in cyprus...do you have any idea what the actual cost is
to the UK government?...probably not far from the retail price in cyprus...how do i know this?...for such an item retailing in cyprus, for your diabetic medication,
for 186 euros, the margin would probably be around 30-40 euros, even 50 euros, fair if you ask me, why?, because again how many are they going to sell on a monthly basis in Cyprus
but they need to stock it...investment idly sitting on the shelf, until an old fool walks with all guns blazing...how would you feel, yes we have the medication
but unfortunately it will take as 5 days to get it in for you...you would be out of control, with a different whine as to why they do not have it in stock for you but in the uk you
can virtually get it at every street corner......I thought you said you are an accountant? lol... an unfair comparison here milti...you are simply comparing apples and oranges...

this is why i said out of all people you should have known better than just whine...an apple and range comparrisson...
