He has always been a staunch supporter of CYPRUS, due to the vast number of Cypriot support for him in his state. Menendez, of Cuban descent, was critical of prez.. malaka Shistofias, for visiting Cuba and praising Fidel Castro..

Cuban cigars have always been a favorite of US politicians despite all the animosity with Cuba and I don't exactly know how but I'm pretty sure many US politicians manage to get their hands on them which they share out at parties etc.

Yeh but this guy is an American Cuban and all American Cubans basically fled the regime in Cuba, do not like the regime there and are supportive of the US embargo.

So offering him a Cuban is like going to DT and offering him Morphou Oranges. That is the point the US Senator made.
