RW, are you inferring that those who voted leave did so because of The Lisbon Treaty!!!
I don't somehow think so, more likely they did so out of total ignorance of the likely consuquconsequences on exiting.
Besides, they believed Arsehole Farage and Boris the Clown. Of course lets not forget the 350 million a ...week for the NHS.

No Milti, I am not saying that! I said I would have! Read it again ..... what I am saying is that in effect BOTH sides were clueless .... and still are and that goes for most of the politicians as well. The Lawyers are on another Planet and make decisions based on The Law, not on what is best for the country or the people but what conforms to The Law. Who wrote the Laws .... the f*****g Lawyers!!!!

You asked for just one detrimental Law that works against the interests of the UK. So I have given you one. Seriously ..... if you cannot see why those two articles in the Lisbon Treaty works against the UK's (in fact any of the 28 States that make up the EU) interests I will be happy to explain why.

This is the sort of thing that should be explained in simple English with examples ...... if the people really were informed as to what is going on there would be revolution!

It is all very well having a democratic vote if those taking part actually know what it is they are voting for! The problem is that they don't and if they did they did know, It would topple the EU Bureaucracy and their project to create a Federal Europe would collapse.

IMO: A Federal States of Europe will never come to pass and the EU (and the Euro with it) will fall apart and all those nations will reform as a trading group with common legislation on trading.

B25:
Simple solution to that, is :
Get rid of the British Bases and so called SBA!

Absolutely! We should give it back to those we took it from ...... hang on a minute ...... that was Turkey!

For a seemingly intelligent fellow, you can sometimes be a right twat!

Turkey was an invader it never belonged to them. Then we had the pseudo UK BS independence (that was doomed to failure) and the RoC became to sole owner of Cyprus. Those lands are titled to GCs historically and they own it. The British, if they want out can just get the F out and return their so called SBA to its rightful owners. Whether the erect bars, strip clubs or whatever is none of yours or anyone else's F business. If you are so fond of Turkey, why are you living there??

Unless they were locked in a sound-proof room with no access to TV, Radio or the Interwebz then they knew very clearly what the consequences of leaving were and can probably spell, 'consequences' too...

For it was discussed on every TV show, Radio show, and forum almost every day... It was made clear by both sides that a 'Leave' vote would mean leaving the institutions of the EU (Customs Union, etc.) and the government sent a leaflet to every single home in the country (at the cost of millions) explaining what leaving the EU meant (and promising to respect the result of the referendum)...

And just about every politician and industry group and POTUS warned of the dire consequences of leaving the EU.

And yet the people, being able to see what a vile, undemocratic institution the EU is still voted to leave.

Didn't know what they were voting for? I don't think so...

But keep on insulting Farage and Boris and all the other 17.4 million brexiteeers, after all, it has worked really well for you remoaners so far!

Very clever spotting the typo !!
The vast majority of "leavers" had not the necessary IQ to make a reasonable choice. They don't watch " intelligent informative tv !! They watch bloody Coronation street, Eastenders, read the Sun and the Daily crao and other such .....intellectually stimulating shit, just as you do no doubt.
Farage the Arsehole as well as Boris the Clown ought to be prosecuted for treason.
Britain IS part of Europe and should remain so. On the other hand, come to think of it, we beat the Krouts twice, and the bloody ...frogs, Napoleon.?? So we can bloody well thrush them again. Go on my son. What fucking brainless little Englanders !!

Just a personal view.

Whilst "A people's vote" currently seems a moveable feast, I don't believe there's likely to be another referendum in the UK............ ever. A couple of reasons:

1) The results can potentially be too inconvenient for those in power.

2) What's the point? We've clearly seen that Parliament makes the decisions and the people do not. So what's the point of people voting in a referendum?

Clearly, the only chance of getting what you want is to elect an MP who agrees with your wishes - regardless of which party they stand for.

Precisely...

We had a 'peoples vote' and the majority voted to leave the EU...

Then we had a GE and the majority voted for parties that pledged to leave the EU...

I suspect there will be carnage at the next GE.
