This is not not done just by Cyprus but it is in cooperation with other countries in the region and big multi-national companies which have invested millions. It also has the backing of the EU which wants an alternative source of natural gas.

don't be stupid, we will vote for individuals not the party. in anycase who else would tcs vote for? any ideas? i am open to suggestions, which fascist party should i vote for. hell will freeze over first boy. not back into your cage and somedu take the keyboard from this animal.

Of course you will only vote for your own! Go tell this to those GCs who will vote for Kilzikourek. They would be voting for somebody who will serve the Turkish interests. You are stupid, but those GCs who vote for him are even stupider.

...I trust Sener Levant, and both candidates have denounced the Turkish Army, calling for its complete withdrawal; that is a good first step.

Indeed, Akel has a history which goes as far back as the Republic's advent. Their relation to the working class and the Unions does not limit them to the Nationalist sentiments which lead to dividing us as adversaries, "Greek" and "Turkish". It is a natural evolution to field candidates all Cypriots may support. As i understand it Disy has made advances toward Akinci's Party, for the same reasons.

I'm disappointed that he didn't give them a maths lesson on how to prove that 82=18.

Must have slipped his mind. :)

Thank you for confirming what everyone has been saying all long, that the TCs only want to be masters in the north and patners in the south. TCs should not be allowed to vote unless they reside full time in the republic paying their dues. Other wise it make a mockery of the whole thing.

Typical TC BS whats ours is ours whats your is ours. Hade assirktir and take those traitors of AKEL with you. They have no F chance in any elections this side.

more racist claptrap

all cypriot citizens where ever they may reside are able to vote in cypriot elections and tcs can vote for any party in the south after the eu ruling recently.

Cypriot citizens can vote and stand as candidates in all their home country elections from abroad if they are already registered in the electoral rolls.

To vote/stand as a candidate in home elections from abroad, Cypriot citizens need to complete these procedures:

to vote, you need to submit a declaration that you are interested in voting in a polling station abroad
to stand as a candidate, you need to present yourself to the Returning Officer to deposit your candidacy.

We have quite a good group here who are taking part in the elctions. long may it continue.
