Erdogan just fired the central bank chief because he refused to lower interest rates. :o

Another blow to the independence of institutions.

Erdogan will be taking over that as well soon.

Watch inflation soar and the lira plummet when he lowers them. He should set the rate to whatever he wants because,

He hasn’t battered the economy enough, he should batter it some more.

Seriously, isn’t there a single person left in the “opposition” to check him from destroying everything..

That is a photo of the F-35 which Turkey won’t be getting. Turkey’s so called 5th generation TF-X is only a toy model displayed at the Paris airshow next to real planes that can actually fly. How desperate is Turkey to show up at the air show with just a toy model. :D

More insecurities of the Turks

No no, don’t anyone stop Erdogan from committing economic suicide for Turkey.

You can’t build a 5th generation anything until you have built the 4th generation. You can’t build the 4th generation of anything until you have built the 3rd. And so on.

You cant jump generations,

Imagine the tech world jumping from a pentium 286 processor to immediately start creating an i7 quad core.

The whole projects budget for tfx is 1.2 billion. While the US spent over 40 billion developing the f35, on top of the retro costs and technological platforms of previous generations.

The company building it, has only ever assembled a prop engined trainer plane.

The markets didn’t like it,

The lira dropped about 12 cents to the dollar straight away on the market open in Sydney.

...is there a fourth world, is she in the second world, if there is a first world?

...while Turkey aspires for the same recognition as Countries, and States, like the USA and Russia, EU or China, she is none of these, yet.

...as it is, what attention she has drawn, has left an image tarnished, as a disruptive force to many despite the pious intentions claimed.

...Erdogan may well be driving Turkey toward the third, (and fourth) world, as their first world saviour; witness the nature of his charity. It may take many years after Erdogan's death to realise this part of his Legacy of Turkish (or "Turkish") expansionism. (And in that regard China is not alone in Africa, as a developing nation.) Pakistan and Brazil, India, are all countries that form this same association to "first world countries", as the BRIC, also a formidable force in the balance of power between them.

...frankly, it all revolves around Cyprus, his "Plan a", and "Plan b"; either total supremacy for "Turkishness" of the sea, (and in Syria, Iran and Iraq, a slice) or, for Turkey much esteem as an equal among equals. But, as i have said before, he may go too far on this present course, and in so doing lose the other. He needs Cyprus united, like he needs Turkey united. With a small change of intention (he hopes at the most advantageous moment) he may recognise Cypriots for "being" Cypriots, and he may learn enough from this 'revelation', in Cyprus, to provide the Hope that Turkey needs as well in its own Constitutional reform.
