https://cyprus-mail.com/2019/08/18/domestic-workers-a-vilely-corrupt-system/

can you believe this situation?

Their contracts stipulate a salary of between €320 and €400 a month net, if they live with their employer, and a six-day working week. They cannot change their employer without obtaining a release form – from the very employer they want to leave.

so unless their employer agrees they cannot leave. is this not slavery?

my god they have turned cyprus into hell. such a thing does not even exist in the north.

are you not proud to be a cypriot where this is legal?

you can always tell where the goernment is at from the comments they make.

https://cyprus-mail.com/2019/08/18/spokesman-says-a-fact-that-others-out-to-hurt-our-reputation/

That at times some people are trying to hurt our country’s reputation is a fact, Government Spokesman Prodromos Prodromou said on Sunday referring to media reports implying a link between President Nicos Anastasiades, his law firm and the so-called Troika laundromat.

so an attack on the president and his law firm for fraud is calimed to be an attack on cyprus. how interesting.

now this is iteresting rw.

They can leave by returning to their countries. What they can't do is change employer within Cyprus without giving back the money that the original employer paid to bring them here.
