I think salary levels are the main reason I don't go back to Cyprus.

Same here.. but I think it goes beyond just the salary aspect.. the challenges and opportunities one can find in a financial career in London are just not available in Cy...

Also, having tried to go back to Cyprus a few years ago (before heading back to London), I can tell you that the workplace culture in most companies is very different to London.. much "heavier", if not primitive..

That said, Cyprus is a good place to raise kids, so I might go back if I ever decide to settle down and have a family..

I didn't say I spend several thousand a month But rents in London are pretty insane. I spend £650 a month on that alone, and I house-share. I don't even live in the centre of the city So money disappears pretty fast here.

That means that in Cyprus you would earn less but spent less also, no?

Mmmno, I'd earn less and spend the same because I'd probably go out more :S

i find cyprus is cheap real estate wise
but damn normal stuff eg shampoo
meat is so damn expensive

Compared to Australia meat is obviously expensive! You must have the cheapest meat over there.
