They certainly will not fold as a result of not getting the same benefits genuine charities get as they currently do.

No they won't.

When you were in Adelaide you would know about a few of these like Saint Andrews, Prince Alfred, Immanuel College, Christian Brothers, saint Peters, Wilderness etc etc.

They are akin to Eaton in the Uk.

They won't fold.

Also, these are tie schools and people get jobs just because they went here. Some businesses do not employ outside of these networks.

If you want a career in law, or medicine, then send your kids to these schools.

Immanuel College was opened by the Greek Monarch King Constantine. It's a Lutheran School. Kraut!

No. There will still be queues to get into the likes of Elton, Harrow, Westminster and many more. Unless there’s an out ‘n’ out ban of course. Then the paper thin veneer reason of tax will be lost, revealing the policy for what it actually is. Simple, old fashioned socialist class war.

So you accept that their current charity status is unfair ? You accept that removing this and the benefits it gives them and those using such schools will not cost the treasury (meaning tax payers) a penny but will save it millions ? Is that your position ? You support the removal of charity status for such schools but not the banning of such schools entirely ? Have I understood you correctly ?

Now let's be realistic here!

A family who owns a helicopter is in all likelihood pretty wealthy.

I am an aviation guy and I know what helicopters cost. A bell jet ranger for instance will set you back over a million bucks. Buying one is the easy part. A squirrel will set you back 2 million.

But then the real costs are the 100 hourly maintenance Cycles and parts.

Not the same with sending your kid to a private school. There are hundreds of private schools and most have reasonably affordable fees. Others have massive fees.

Usually, most of the kids that attend these schools are not what I would call wealthy. Most struggle to pay the fees.

It is evident to me that Corbyn's politics are envy politics and anti aspirational.

Where did I say that ? :?

Wait for it, wait for it - Again, I feel you’ve missed my point

The top “elite” schools will continue. Period. Unless banned, as a result of socialist political dogma. So, you won’t be rid of the Boris Johnson’s of this world. Just deny people like yourself and young Jimmy Bloggs the option.

You do sound like the public school type. I grew up in a London ghetto but managed to escape the “bog standard comprehensive” (A Campbell) environment via a grammar. Since closed down there, on the basis of its being “unfair”. Another good chance for any Jimmy in that neck of the woods destroyed on the grey alter of socialism.

I love it when people who’ve been fortunate enough to benefit from something subsequently develop a puritan-like social conscience and decide others should be denied, because it’s unfair. Hypocrisy. Just like Ms Abbott, IIRC.
