MR, you do realize that the moment the UK is officially out of the EU, I doubt you will be able to use the automated passport control system anywhere in the EU with your British passport, including Cyprus. Same for me in Switzerland and the rest of the EU countries. So, we will need to join the long lines like all other non EU citizens to get through passport control. Also, expect more questions and delays, just so to fuck the Brits a little.

Utter bollox...

This is pure Remoaner fantasy over the past 3½ years that EU Passport holders fly through the airport at light speed whereas forriners spend days at customs control in mile-long queues...

The reality is if you arrive at a Cyprus airport along with several other UK flights (as often happens) you'll spend ages in long queues along with everybody else...

...and then eventually, you'll all and up waiting at the carousel for your luggage for ages along with EU and non-EU passengers until the baggage handlers finish their coffee and decide to move your bags...

Are you questioning the fact that UK passport holders will not be able to use the automated passport control system any longer at EU countries and instead will need to line behind the rest of the world’s passengers, which most needing visas, which means the immigration officers will take longer time with them, whilst U.K. passport holders more than likely will not need visas to any of the EU countries, however, will be delayed while passengers with visa requirements will take longer to process?

I for one will not be able to use the automated passport system here in Switzerland with my U.K. passport once Brexit takes place and this was confirmed by the British madam Ambassador Jane Owen at her residence in Bern couple of months ago when expats were invited to discuss the changes effecting us after Brexit. So yes, leaving the EU as UK passport holders, we will have longer waits along with the rest of non EU members. For some reason however, the Swiss National will be able to use the automated passport control systems at the UK airports.

No...

If you read my post carefully you'll see that I was pointing out the fallacy that an EU passport somehow whisks you at light speed through an airport while non-EU Passport holders stand in long queues for days.

The reality being (for anybody that has actually travelled through an airport) that even if you are first off the plane and first through passport control you still have to wait as long for your luggage as anybody else...

And going the other way, you are still in the same queue going through security as everybody else no matter what colour your passport.

And while I am here, do you actually remember having to get a visa to travel to France pre-EU...?

I did read your post carefully. Your response to my post was, “utter bollox”.

My post was ONLY talking about UK passport holders no longer being able to use the faster automated passport system after Brexit, which was in reference to MR’s experience at Larnaca airport at the hands of some dickheads at the passport control. I was not stating that EU passport holders get their luggage faster than the non EU members, nor do they get their meals on the plane faster, nor do they get through security screening any faster, nor do they jump ahead of the que at the shit house, or that they get a blow job from the flight attendants before others. You are just creating a pointless argument when there was nothing to argue about.

Not too long ago, passengers at Heathrow were held up 2-3 hours at arrival passport control. Those allowed to use the automated system were able to get through much much faster. Also, not everyone checks in a luggage if it’s a short trip. Instead, they just bring aboard a carry on.

No, I don’t remember getting a visa to go to France as I went every year to Southern France from 1975-1979 for canoeing trips down the River Ardèche and the River Tarn. Perhaps I am not as old as you are. What was your point with that question anyway, if there was a point to be made to beging with?

I'd have thought my points were quite clear...?

You are making fatuous arguments (passport control and the need for visas) to continue to moan about Brexit...

I suspect you Remoaners will still be doing so long after we've left, but still...

As I said, Project Fear the gift that continues to err... probably forever....

Have a great Christmas! :D

This thread caught my attention. Too bad seems like it is not a reality yet?
I was hoping for the automated passport control..
