Still no confirmed Corona cases in Cyprus, but for how long?

Well it looks like COVIDs days might be numbered.

Australian researchers are claiming they have found a preventative and curative medicine that prevents you from catching COVID and even cures it if you do get it.

It’s peer reviewed in Australia and the US and they are claiming a 100% success rate.

So if that’s true, then hooray! :D

I’m just putting this out there.

...this will continue to be an issue, long after the world overcomes the COVID threat.

China will pay dearly, and more dearly the more it resists an open and honest effort at transparency.

...worrying news for March.

...the variants, so long as there is travel, are bigger threats as contagions; the risk of health systems collapsing, thus, far more death as well.

''ominous'' the word used, by Fauci, in terms of America.

...good news from Israel, vaccines work.

...supply issues are very serious; vaccines paid for but 60% less delivered, produced in Belgium, leaves the EU, (and many other countries), angry.

...China too cannot deliver what they promise, to Brazil, and Turkey for example.

...in Brazil, a good report from someone who had COVID, and who discusses their illness from a medical perspective.

I don't believe so. It looks ironically as though China will be virtually the only country which comes out of the pandemic covered in roses. Gaining a distinct advantage from it, and not just economically (GDP up 6.5% in Q4 2020).

The idea of sending a WHO team to Wuhan now to investigate the origin of the virus must surely be a joke? What are they likely to find/conclude, 12 months late and in CCP China?

It all seems a waste of time, effort and money. Not least because the matter’s already been proven beyond doubt by somebody on his keyboard 7000 km away.

The latest, from a couple of weeks ago, of the many 'pick which suits' disinformation efforts coming out of Bejing seems to be that Covid-19 arrived there in a batch of imported frozen ice-cream.

Anal swabs rolled out for detecting COVID-19 infections in China

BY AGENCIES
ISTANBUL HEALTH JAN 28, 2021 1:41 PM GMT+3

China has officially rolled out anal swabs to detect COVID-19 infections as part of its ramped-up nationwide screening efforts to eliminate potential carriers from going unnoticed. The new testing method, which up until now had been via mouth and nose swabs, has made travelers and social media users squirm with discomfort.

A throat swab on a 52-year-old man in Weinan, a city in northern Shaanxi province, showed a negative result after the person showed symptoms such as coughing and appetite loss, a city official said Wednesday, but he tested positive using nose and anal swabs. The person, who had been put in a centralized facility for medical observation as a close contact of another carrier earlier this month, was then confirmed as a COVID-19 patient, the official told a news conference.

Anal swabs require inserting a cotton swab 3 to 5 centimeters (1.2 to 2.0 inches) into the anus and gently rotating it.

This question has been bugging me for the last week or so with all the COVID-19 vaccine producers are falling short of their best intentions to deliver their product to their customers on time, and despite with all their best efforts, it will take many months before most people who wants it will be vaccinated. I hate to think what will happen to those in poor countries.

So, the question is, why can’t every country who have facilities to produce these vaccines to produce them under license upon receiving the formula from the 4-5 sources producing them now? What am I missing here? :?

I'm involved in a large pharma CDMO (basically a Pharma manufacturer) and even though we'd love to gain contracts on vaccines its extremely difficult as you'd need specialised Bio CDMO's. Each product line takes months to build followed by painful regulatory audits. What Pfizer and astrazenneca should be doing are getting rid of their other in house product lines to manufacturers and freeing up more resources for the vaccines..something which they've finally started acting on.

It's a blessing they've screwed up for I wouldn’t want their stupid vaccine if they paid me!
