far out! If that was in Australia, police would take them all away and belt the crap out of them.

I mean sorry, but some people deserve it. I understand lock down is pretty dam hard and awful, but these people just lack respect to the safety of society generally.

Most people who get COVID will be ok. But one of our recovered relatives does have post covid complications which are not very nice - deep vain thrombosis, and pressure on the heart meaning the heart muscle could have been damaged, not to mention lung capacity and maybe even damage to other organs. So COVID isn't something you want to play Russian Roulette with.

I don't condone it - and personally play strictly by the rules. Nevertheless, I think after a year of this pandemic and the on/off lockdown regimes a lot of people have simply had enough. I suspect some sort of civil insurrection, or at least a fairly widespread ignoring of the rules, will become more and more commonplace. Elections coming up are I imagine a complication. Cypriot members of the forum would have a better idea on that.

It seems that after the latest lockdown, from the 10th May, you will need to prove "immunity" to do such basic things as shopping, or going out for a meal/drink. The simplest option is to be able to produce evidence of having had your first vaccine. I imagine that will provoke a lot of thought among the apparent 25% of young people who've said they don't intend to get vaccinated. Their 3 hour lattes will be threatened! :D

I don't think such a thing will be implemented,

It sounds like a great idea - at a brain-storming, high level government meeting. Looking at the practicalities of implementation though - it seems to have horrendous implications. I agree, it probably ain't going to happen. Except possibly theoretically.

Any comment on the election implications for all this?

A couple ideas come to mind,

One is that voter turnout will be low,

The other is that the opposition will capitalize on it and try to swing voters.

But if voters cant go to vote, or voting will be nigh impossible or a hassle, that doesn't really matter.

If this is going to be implemented, ( I doubt it ) some exception will be appended for the elections.

...not that this wasn't suspected before, a reminder that even in such a crisis, evil minds are at work as well.
