On another Forum, as someone who supports Brexit, I've been subjected to a significant amount of abuse by "Liberals" (has there ever been a better misnomer). Dense, red-neck ignoramus, and - trust me - a whole lot worse. All proclaiming their "democratic" credentials on other threads. Rank hypocrites the lot of them.

The fundamental issue of the nature of democracy aside, people react of course to this kind of stuff - and the rest I think is history. So, yes, my use of "sneering contempt" isn't a provocative expression, it's the reality.

Bravo to the leader of NZ but I don't think it's relevant to the situation in the UK.

It's always seemed to me that you're a man who very much enjoys debate (aka arguing) over just about anything. I'm not

As in all political matters of course, nobody can predict with any certainty the outcomes. I suspect though that my view of the November US election stands a good chance of coming about for the reasons I've suggested.

You - or rather your views - regarding the UK situation were totally and democratically destroyed in 4 UK elections. The last being pretty apocalyptic for the Labour party. You need to get over it and move on.

There never is any guarantee as to who wins the presidency in the US elections. Despite Hillary being a woman, a former First Lady, full of controversy with her politics as one of the most hated politicians by half of America, she garnered more popular votes than Trump in the 2016 elections. Since then, Trump has become one of the most controversial politician in the US by at least half the American population which leaves the election this year a toss up. Joe Biden will give Trump a run for his money and he has just as a good chance of winning as Trump.

And my point is, that is your reality, that does not make the only reality in existence.

You misunderstand me, which is understandable. For me argument and debate are just a means to an end. It is the end that drives me, that has always driven me. The end is understanding.

I think there is a good chance Trump can and will win a 2nd term. I also think there is a good chance he will not.

My view on Brexit pre the last election, was that democracy demanded that a minority government should not be allowed to bully through a no deal exit by nefarious means with out some form of majority consent for such direct or indirect. Once there was a majority government I shut up about Brexit. My 'criteria' was met for any form of exit to be legitimate. You could not understand my position then and you still do not now. Maybe that is not unconnected with you being someone who does not like arguing (which to me means understanding) and simply prefers to just state their position and then shut up ? Who knows.

So do you think Trump imposed travel restrictions on people travelling from China before Italy and all other countries other than Australia, as Paphitis repeatedly claims ? Or is that another thing you have no interest in 'arguing' about ?

Biden is just as much hated in the USA.

Trump can just play golf for 6 months and still win.

We have the democrats and MSM working on his campaign. Can't possibly lose. 8)
