Test your ACTUAL high speed internet connection

Postby Leonidas » Thu Jan 26, 2006 8:16 pm

I found it really interesting when I tested the Internet connection of CYTA using their test, versus the one I use in the States.

CYTA claimed they run 600k to 700k

When I run the test using the test at www.toast.net it came up short of 180 k

Most results just barely made it to 140k. Consider that dial up tests at around 56k it is not THAT high speed, is it? !!!!!!!!!!

I'm curious what you get as results on your connections, using both tests.

What's the old one. This is about speed now, not what's maybe coming up.

PS
Sorry, I did not realize that that thread changed to speed testing. I see it now. thanks

Remember Leonidas, Cyta dial-up is nowhere near 56K – 5K if you are lucky!

My results on a satellite connection: -

997K for the text file and just under 500K for the images.

You are in Limassol Soto, right?

Yes. Limassol and Otenet! I think is Otenet that makes the difference not that I am in Limassol. Maybe I shouldn't talk much because more people will go with Otenet and I will have less bandwidth for myself :?
